asking all the sifu here, I am using laptop acer E5 with 2GB DDR3L, there is another slot for notebook ram, may I plug in 2GB DDR3 RAM instead of 2GB DDR3L ram? are they compatible?

I remember I ask the same question before, yes, it does compatible. the DDR3L stand for Low Voltage which consume less power of your notebook.

Hey guys, anybody here know of good laptop ram at 8GB?

Not really sure of what brands these days are great, and really suffering at 4GB
*
If your laptop are dual channel, buy another one 4GB with same frequency and put back inside.

Hi guys. i'm currently using a HP Pavilion 500-538d Dekstop PC.

I'm planning to upgrade the Ram as it only holds 4GB ram. It's an absolutely pain in the ass to use 4GB ram on rendering usage.

Can any one suggest ram i can go for? ideal is 8GB. not sure which brand or MHZ should i go for.

Rendering have to do with your CPU > SSD > RAM.

I have one question about ram myself.. I used to use dual channel 4gb 2x 2gb with 16 chips on each ram.. now I use 8gb 2x 4Gb with 8 chips on each ram.. with the post ram I have lower lagging when playing game onffline, but with the latter ram, I have lower FPS when playing offline even on low setting. My PC spec is AMD Fx8130, sapphire R9 270X OC, 8gb 1333ghz, 1Tb caviar green WD, asus M5A78L-MLX V2, Cooler Master GX 750W, please... can anyone give me some hints or ideas on how to increase my PC's gaming exp. Also I was online when playing offline game (WIFI ON).. would that effect the game FPS??

I thought Game FPS have to do with your Graphic setup? Or maybe try to update or revert back to the Graphic Driver? Of course RAM do play role in it but not much help as far as I know.

Is it still easy to get hold of DDR2 laptop RAM?
*
DDR2 new are more expensive than DDR3. Even Used sets are same price as DDR3.

It *may* be compatible, it depends on your motherboard actually. If the motherboard is able to tune the settings then its okay, otherwise then  laugh.gif

I had plugged a 1.35v ram into my laptop mobo that support 1.5v, and it works fine. While I plugged in my old 1.5v ram into my dad's laptop that is 1.35v natively and bsod  laugh.gif
