if you know your motherboard model, you can go to the manufacturer's website and search for it, and you can see the specs listed there. those specs can be found in your motherboard manual too.

hi guys,
my laptop, DELL 6400, just sent to a comp shop for service,
then i was told that i need to upgrade my RAM, (originally 512),
i was charged RM107 (after bargain), then after 2 weeks, i add in another software, called sth CPUID, which can check my whole laptop,
to my horror, i found out that my ram is only 1024mb which is only one gb...
what could i do...? and is RM107 the current price?
please advise, thanks.. =)

I think you should state the situation clearer.
What did the seller do? Add in another 512MB?
A 512 ram for a DDR1 is around RM 70.
If it's DDR2 then it's cheaper.

Google for CPU-Z and download the software.
