If you're on 800Hz @ 4-4-4-12, you don't need 2.2Volts.
1.85 ~ 1.9Volts is enough.

About the wrong pictures, yes i know, it's because i'm still in the midst of updating. smile.gif

heres my screenie:
Well, from the CPUz screenie, your motherboard detects all 4GB.
Ignore the 3.5GB 32bit limitation. Because it's normal.

However, i'm a lil bit weird about you saying that your board only detects 3.5GB while the CPUz itself reports that your motherboard does detect all 4GB of ram.

SDRam and DDRam slot are different, you can't fit your SDRam into DDRam Slot, sweat.gif

btw, i found that your motherboard Maximum Memory:
=2 GB using 333MHz DDR modules
=3 GB using 266MHz DDR modules

issit true that running winXP 2GB ram is sweet spot, like adding another 2G the performance gain is negligible?
another thing is having 4 x 1G installed increases the latency?

No you can't.
Because DDR533 667 & 800 is DDR2.

Your motherboard only supports DDR1.
You can't use DDR2 rams on DDR1 ram slot.

I want to rant something here.

My argument is: Are Corsair Value Select DDR2 rams really suck?

Yeah... so much on the "reliable, qualified, tested, compatible" claimed by Corsair. Here I have 3 brand new Corsair Value Select DDR2, and only one of it is working. I have 3 pc in the house (unfortunately all of them are AMD) and none of them boot with these 2 stupid rams. I've checked with all three motherboards website regarding memory compatibility issue and none of them listed CVS. But somehow, one RAM does work without any hiccup...so I take that the compatiblity test wasn't really accurate. Tomorrow I'm gonna go over my friend's place to test on his Intel.

Since I'm talking about DDR2, I have never had any single problem with Kingston Value RAM and Crucial.

My suggestion here: Beware careful of Corsair Value Select...they're expensive for nothing.

*(sometimes need manual increase voltage to 2.0v)

Heard that they take 667 chipset (official mod)?? sweat.gif

I had no problem with Aeneon,Twinmos Value ram. Can overclock without heatsink ^.^

i really dunno why...
swap another ram prob solve no more blue screen
and it sometime happen and sometime not...
mean there is only a small chances to get the blue screen

i think it's compatibility problem. you know la...sometimes these manufacturers think they're so smart... so confident claiming that their modules are stable la, this and that la...put premium price some more (even for normal value ram). they should've play it safe with value ram... let the timing a bit loose. Consumer only see the SPD timing like CL-Trcd-Trp-Tras only... they can't see anything else programmed to the SPD.

Well, regarding compatibility issue I believe we have to look into point that vendor/manufacturer do not test their products with all the motherboard available on the market. In fact, some motherboard are not even release when the RAM modules released.

Hence, keep in mind that manufacturer/vendor always will try to convince user that their product comprise everything so that they could grab market share.

I have an old PC with a P3v133 motherboard, with 128MB of SDRAM on it. The 128MB comprises 2 sticks of 64MB. Can I buy a 256MB stick and plug it into the third slot giving me total 384MB, or do all sticks have to be identical (in which case I'd have to replace the RAM rather than add)? I want to install XUbuntu on it but 128MB Ram isn't sufficient.

If I wanted to go to the shops in LowYat to buy the SDRAM, what specs do I need to give? The manual says 256MB ASUS 168-pin PC133 2-bank ECC SDRAM DIMM (p/n ASUS-XAL256), but I'm not sure I can remember all that. Can I just say 168-pin SDRAM? Thanks!
