i am thinking want to get gskill ram, however, realized there are 2 type of latency.
because 3600mhz so many option and confusing, so i decide get 3200 instead.
i am using b450 aorus m mobo.
Trident Z Neo DDR4-3200MHz CL14-14-14-34 1.35V 16GB (2x8GB)
Trident Z Neo DDR4-3200MHz CL16-18-18-38 1.35V 16GB (2x8GB)Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600MHz CL14-15-15-35 1.40V 16GB (2x8GB)
Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600MHz CL16-16-16-36 1.35V 16GB (2x8GB)
Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600MHz CL16-19-19-39 1.35V 16GB (2x8GB)
Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600MHz CL18-22-22-42 1.35V 16GB (2x8GB)QUOTE(lolzcalvin @ Jan 29 2020, 11:47 AM)
get the lowest possible timings (CAS Latency a.k.a. CL as you've seen in the names).
share if you do find one with lower timings

because low latency RAM is scarce in malaysia. malaysian sellers usually get their hands on the worst possible timings.

3200mhz only have Cl16
what you say is true. its feels like not really worth get 3600, as all those timing are really bad. if want to OC, does it matter to use high timing which we can change its timing later on?
for example.. 3600mhz, Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600MHz CL18-22-22-42 1.35V 16GB (2x8GB)
enable xmp profile, then change it to CL14-15-15-35 with 1.5v ?

there's a very high chance the CL18 variant will fail even trying to OC to 16-16-16-36. failing means that it fails to fully boot.

dats y i was thinking sticking to 3200mhz are the wise choice.. as its the only ram have cl16..

follow up: i've managed to find and bought 3600MHz CL16-16-16-36 RAMs locally after almost 4 months. bought 2 sets, that makes it 4x8GB...and now I hope it runs fine on my system without issue because it's very expensive and I'm not so sure if the CPU can properly handle 4 sticks of RAM...
