i think this is impossible in android, correct me if i am wrong
*
this is done on the sygic gps app. when sygic app is running you don't see the notification bar at the top. but u can still make it display by doing a finger action at the top screen. the bar will then appear where u can now slide it down like normal. if u don't slide it down, after a while the notification bar will disappear again.

It will prompt again for OTA update. Force check update will say no update.

Download 22.24MB only. So can use 3G to download but make sure use wifi option is disabled.

Make sure your battery power is sufficient. Or won't allow you to update. I got 43% also cannot update.
*
waht u mean? so how do i update using 3g direct? there isn't any prompt for OTA update. what prompt?

As long as the Wi-Fi Only option is not ticked then it will download the updates via your 3G connection.
*
my wifi only option is not tick, but i am not receiving anything to download.

getting a response from people on this board can be difficult, i am gonna have to ask twice...anybody experiencing yellow tint on their S3...if so has anyone found a solution

I need assistance here i don't wanna have to open a new thread just to get noticed
*
yes i have a slight tint. the white will have a slight yellow tint when i look directly. if i tilt the phone slightly the tint will vanish.

they say its not normal i have not visited samsung. but the yellow tint don't bother me too much. so still living with it. maybe i will change later on.

Hi guys, just got my blue S3 yesterday.
However, cant seem to get the SMS->Call function working.
Anyone can advise?
*
it works, with a bit of technic. u have to bring it to your year in perpendicular fashion. if u slide it to your ear it won't work. the phone likes to see your ear coming. if u surprise the phone suddenly your ear appear from nowhere it merajuk. something like that.

Ok now this sucked. Apparently. XP can't detect my phone and I did not bring my laptop over to my workplace. = =" Office pc still uses XP ffs.

Now what should I do? I need to transfer several big files into my new memory card. Even installed the USB driver but can't do anything to check my memory card. sweat.gif
*
yeah xp can't detect my phone too. i didn't try hard enough though, coz i had alternative. vista and above ok.

Then just pretend you're playing temple walk. Isn't that easier for you if he's walking?  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif  biggrin.gif

BTW, my temple run runs smoothly on my s3. Try end all the background task before playing.
*
temple run, i noticed the lagging before the update. in face i reported it somewhere in this forum. but after the latest update, did u notice how smooth it is now? very impressive. super smooth like the iOS counterpart. can someone verify my observation. the update did optimize the os.

*
the free temple run. for me before the update it was laggy a little, subtle but noticable. like the framerate slows for 0.5 secs here and there. but now is smooth. i dono. different people different experience. but the smoothness is very noticable after the update for me at least

Guys need all your help or input. Bought my s3  2 weeks back. Notice the  I am on network  mode gsm/cdwma  which give 3g, I notice my phone become hot after idling for 5 to 10mins. Sometimez when I put  in my bAG the phone  becomes even more overheating. Why like that?
*
If idle but on 3g then it shouldn't overheat. That's not normal. Perhaps it's not idling. Check your sync setup

it is true if u buy s3 u have to buy accessories no matter what and u have to pay for jailbreak/upgrade software and whatsoever?..
*
avoid those who rape u like that. u can do whatever u want to do to pimp your phone. but if u begginer i suggest u just don't do anything to your phone and enjoy it the way it is.

hehe, honestly, i am not very familiar with firmware things coz still new to smartphone.
i check out on samsung website, it is kind of software like upgrading or fix the software, does it affect the battery usage?

hope for advice
*
just rely on your built in "play store" on software updates and fixes. don't do anything "backdoor" at the moment. just enjoy the standard features that comes with the original phone. when u ready (u will know when u ready) u can do the "backdoor" thing. but really u don't need to. backdoor are for seasoned users or just for the itchy fingers. for the people on the streets like u and me, no need backdoor.

and don't steal software. it is not like zaman 80an where everybody steals. now, u like something u buy. what is 1.99 usd anyway. makan keropok is about that price. and if u see a good software, reward these people la. is a small price anyway. just do your small part to reward them.

U mean we need to choose whether to download it or not? What kinda software we need to update and vice versa?
*
in your playstore u can set it as automatic update. so update becomes automatic. i set that on my phone so i don't need to poll for updates (just like u can setup in this forum so u don't have to poll for updates too)

actually no need to choose whether to update or not. just trust the developer and let them auto update for u. always ok one.

Oh. Update will not affect the older version 1? I mean in term of bug or something.
*
well, the reason u have an update is exactly to make the older version better - like repair bugs or even giving u new features. the developers don't just release the software and shake legs, u know they will work on it, or else some other software will be better and we the customer will jump to that software. so, rezeki jangan ditolak.

actually how to use mobile odin to flash to custom kernel?
because whenever i tried to lauch mobile odin, it will prompt me to install additional file, which will be directed to xda-developers forum. so which file i need to download and is it necessary?
*
my first touchscreen phone is an 02 mini. u bring back nostalgia. is a damn good phone then but a damn ugly phone if i see it again. bring back the good old days. not really about the phone, but about the people around that phone.

a phone can really do that to you.
