Despite the fact the laptop is crazy fast, it’s slow to bootup, the hard drive is like a huge inertia that has to be overcome before the speed and momentum of the other components can take over.

I changed mine to ssd(corsair force 3) during purchased , boot up 18sec(ready to use) and shutting use 8sec with ssd while hdd use 82sec(ready to use)

major improvement , loading apps , gaming , browsing etc . i can say u wont back to hdd after ssd

fyi : wont void the warranty by change hhd , u upgrade ram also unscrewing the same port

hi guys, can u share wit me wats the best price for the Y480 in lowyat? i went to digital mall today to ask around, i'm looking for instalment plan, and so far ive checked with the following three shops:

- allIT: 0% instalment, but no stock
- aoneplus: rm2499, rm38 fee for instalment
- evernew: 5% charge for instalment O_O

N56VZ harddisk 5400 or 7200?

can anyone pls explain i read previose post if i change the hard disk with ssd and the hdd put and dvd slot and wer do the dvd put ?(i am plaing to buy the ssd but dono how and wat to do )

Get the external dvd drive usb adapter and use it as external drive as HERE.



Garage sales is selling around 2340-2380. Some garage sellers have the shop in Lowyat & also instalment plan. google for it.

Yes, is SATA to USB adapter since HDD & ODD are using the same SATA port.

from this link, looks like the Intel RST can only be enabled by oem. So if any of you that planning to use RST, you better buy the laptop with the msata preconfigured. Just a reminder

Nope. remove ur dvd drive and use it as external dvd drive with SATA to usb adapter. SSD will be at HDD bay and HDD at dvd bay with caddy.

by using 5400rpm HDD, I already keep increasing boot up time as I can...
First time reach 40000++ms

U can see the newest one only use 39461ms(36.46s) to boot up...

For people who said booting time required long time by using 5400rpm HDD....

If use 7200rpm HDD can less 10 second I think.....
of course if use SSD booting time only less than 20 second but no money wei....=.=

I think 7200rpm HDD is already fast enough for me, haha
