Nope, i've made an appointment to meet them at my unit this Saturday. I think you can just check if you bank has disbursed the final payment, once released you can make an appointment with SD rep to collect your keys.

I wont be moving in - planning to let it out but will see how's the market like first. My parents went to have a look last weekend, they said there are quite a few "To Let" signs out there already.

Hi, welcome to the community!
DA told me to wait for their clearance letter b4 calling them to arrange for collection... Is the the same thing for you?

hi,

has any of the fern lane owners here started their reno? Could u pls share your contractor contacts & quotation for simple wet works (plan to remove the partition wall in the kitchen and convert the planter box to wet kitchen and maybe remove the water feature at the porch), grill and kitchen cabinet. I'm looking to do something simple as i plan to lease it out.

Also, anyone know how's the demand like for rental units in Denai Alam. Saw some fern lane units advertised in iproperty asking for about 2k per month, is that realistic? I know some owners in BU are only letting out at 2.2k.

Thank you in advance! smile.gif

If fern lane is too small for you, go for the super links. I think the most recent launch was Aster Groove...there should be more coming up.

QUOTE(Khangwoi @ Sep 24 2012, 05:21 PM)
Hi,

I am actually considering to get a unit in fernlane (22x80), do you feel the master bedroom is too small? Any plan or idea to make it bigger?

The toilet in downstair also very small.....I couldn't understand where all the space they are wasted.........

Regards,
Soo

with a budget of 800k, i would have gone for newly launched superlinks. Aster Groove was only going for 840k with a much bigger built up.... unless you are looking for a unit for immediate stay. Just my two cents worth

QUOTE(Khangwoi @ Oct 2 2012, 02:31 PM)
All the while struggling on getting fernlane (design) or verdania (build up).....but after few viewing prefer build up, so have decided to take verdania.....

At first have budget concern as well....but already settle it....

Just want to find out the truth of what agent told me.....Planning to stay in this place, so just wish to know the population......

Working in PJ....but I realize the interchange in jelutong and NKVE always jam, also my wife working in sri damansara.....that's why concern when the DASH highway going to complete.....

Sorry if I have make you feel uncomfortable if i have asked too much.....

has any fern lane owners install their grills? Is RM6800 reasonable for mild steel hollow single strip design? Can anyone share contacts for grill contractor? I also need to do minor wet work (cement the planter's area and install awning). Any recommendation is appreciated...thanks smile.gif

ya, should be the same. Single strip is just the design. Which contractors? If you don't mind, can you pm me their contact pls. Thanks.

QUOTE(numbertwo @ Nov 22 2012, 10:21 PM)
Is 'mild steel hollow single strip'  the same as normal hollow mild steel (since they are both 'hollow') ?

In Fern, most contractors quoted not more than 4K for whole house (intermediate) for standard hollow grill.

My FL unit is currently under reno by the main con. So far am quite pleased with the progress, his quotation is also by the far the cheapest. smile.gif

Just curious - why is Aster Grove price so much higher than the recently launched Serrisa Terrace and Saffron Hills? One of my relative got AG for 845k, is the extra 2x5ft land worth that extra 100+k?

Hey there mate...what sorta reno work are you currently doing on the FL unit?  hmm.gif
*
just some simple work to make my unit "leasable" - 1) adding a concrete roof at the back area to cover both the planter's area and the back door 2) Installing a 3 panel window in the wet kitchen 3) kitchen top in the wet kitchen 4) polycarbonate roof at the 1st floor to prevent rain from damaging the wooden door and also from rain to gather on the koi pond. Still considering if i should cement off the whole "roof garden", its causing some serious damage on my porch ceiling. Anyone else facing the same prob?

My reno is done by the main contractor - Nasruddin. His mobile 012 2361767. Thought all FL's owner would have to contact him to install all the fittings?

Ok i need to retract my earlier recommendation - the progress of my simple wet work is not even 50% completed despite several chasers. My contractor was supposed to complete reno last weekend but till date, no definite completion date can be given. All i get is more excuses, i made several visits to my house over the last week only to find it empty! no workers at scene at each visit....sighs....its already been a month, i hope it doesn't drag on any further. So yes, i'm withdrawing my earlier recommendation. The few hundred dollar cheaper is not worth it.

Have you tried contacting the guy...? Share his details here, I shall post it up the front page on 'RECOMMENDED & STAY-AWAY Contractors'

i contracted the main-con, Nasruddin to do it. I find it odd that he is struggling to find sub-con to complete the task...he kept telling me he couldn't find someone to do the tiles, someone to install my polycarbonate, etc. I thought the whole Denai Alam development is under him? Aaarrgghhh...am pissed!

Let me know if any of you need any electrician contact. My electrician is really good, very reliable and charges are reasonable. Only RM20 per point.

QUOTE(numbertwo @ Mar 28 2013, 04:08 PM)
soph, RM20 for a lighting point is very expensive irregardless of how professional they are..  for a reference, I got mine done up for RM10-lighting points, and RM25/- ceiling fan point..
