Damn easy one, just follow step by step. Make sure you go to a good internet connection place to download the update because I bet the file size will easily be Gigs size, but best part of Apple is that all download is resume-able heheheThis post has been edited by edwardgsk: Jul 20 2012, 07:13 PM |

QUOTE(s88 @ Jul 20 2012, 10:01 PM) i have a question about the macbook air 13" 2012. hope im on the right thread to ask. is it justifiable to get the 256gb ssd model at rm900 extra from the base model (128gb) which is only rm3699? does 256gb ssd cost that much at this time around? is there a slight hope that there'll be a 3rd party ssd that can replace the macbook air 2012? Nope u cant upgrade iinm. The macbook air's ssd is same like rMBP one, fixed on the motherboard d. |

QUOTE(CPURanger @ Jul 22 2012, 01:46 AM) Yeah, I found out yesterday. Tempted to cancel and reorder. Nahhh.... wait loh no worries. If you don't do lots of graphic stuffs, 8GB is more than enough for Mac OS. For me, photoshop, premier pro, after effects, maya, nuke, is like my daily meals, and my college result and income depending on them, so I can't live without sufficient RAM to work with. Just wonder should I go for 16GB. Anyway my current usage 4GB is on iMac is OK. I don't for see usage of exceeding 8GB for now... |

While I was working at Sunway Machines previously, I always lol hard when I meet inexperience buyers try to opt for the highest performance that they won't even need based on their own description of their need.

Last time, only design graduated student will use mac as their workhorse. Nowadays, every field will find an excuse to use a mac for work. Fancy it?

IMO, if you are not in design field, and you don't have a deep pocket, don't use mac. Mac is not the best bang for bucks option for you. You definitely don't need that high res screen either.
And no matter how satisfy you are at the moment you made your mac purchase, trust me, you won't feel happy either when you realize someone is having a same look mac with you, but with a faster components inside. You will feel like switching your unit with that fellas' With 4k budget you can easily get a powerful window laptop that has discrete graphics and i7 quad core processors. Why scratch head thinking mac? |

QUOTE(fipoch @ Jul 23 2012, 08:55 PM) I haven't owned a Mac, and I wish to have one. I already have a Windows desktop. Tu lahhh, want a mac for play nia. I heard 3D CAD softwares like Maya, Solidworks etc. ran on worse integrated graphics with a good enough result. That being said, I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried running any of these softwares with a 13-inch Macbook before? I think 3D modelling applications don't use a lot of GPU power, it's mostly CPU. I'm The One Academy graduated VFX artist. I use Autodesk and Adobe everyday. Yes, you can render them fast once you done your work with fast CPU, BUT you will cry when you are in the progress of building and do previews if you don't have big ram and GPU. |

QUOTE(Apple Fanboy @ Jul 24 2012, 02:58 AM) My Mac has been SO helpful to my studies! Mac + iPad + iCloud. I never need a USB thumb drive or never have to connect my iPad to sync with my Mac at all! Pages, Keynotes and Numbers all sync via iCloud and is just amazing. Everything is done with iCloud, and my life is now so much more convenient and organized. Good for you. My college last time still cannot do so, because some lab uses Dell workstation, some uses iMac. So very troublesome have to use thumb drives and ext hdd still. But luckily we have a college server so we just throw things into it when lazy to copy lol. Sometimes virus come then those did not backup on their own, gg. |

Because they don't sell it as a retail pack anymore. Even Aperture, Final Cut Pro X, all moved to Apps Store.
