Everywhere also sold out.
Say next week new stock.
If they don't get 256GB by next week, I'm just gonna get the 512GB model.
Going overseas for studies in 2 weeks, I need to get mine by next week!

QUOTE(FishnChipx @ Jun 16 2012, 11:35 PM) i thought it already can be order at applestore malaysia and also shop like machine those .. As far as I know, online order takes 3-4 weeks, and I am leaving overseas in 3 weeks. I will be overseas the next 3 years. So I am afraid I can't risk online orders. Most stores I called has either sold out or didn't get any stock. Those that did receive stock got only the 512GB model, not the 256GB model.

QUOTE(G_KeN @ Jun 17 2012, 01:58 AM) Try to ask them again and see if they can accept reservation tips. I have cousins whose friends work at Machines. Hopefully they keep me up-to-date when the 256GB comes here. I kinda feel that 256GB wont be enough, but the 512GB model price difference is just too damn high. RM2,000. With that money I can get an external 1TB HDD or something. So it's a bit of a dilemma for me. This post has been edited by PS3.Gamer: Jun 17 2012, 08:02 PM

QUOTE(sai86 @ Jun 17 2012, 08:04 PM) i would get the 256gb model + 1 tb external hdd with usb3.0/TB. as said rm2k can get another mid range PC lappie or better use. Yes, I think that's what I'm most probably going to do.

Just got back from Machines KLCC.
HOLY SHIT!
That Retina Display is just gorgeous!
Did a side by side comparison with the old MBP and it was a world of difference!
Also did a weight check, and the new MBP is so freakin' light compared to the old 15".
Now just patiently waiting for the stock to arrive.

QUOTE(Eidilfitrix @ Jun 22 2012, 09:50 AM) I have a question, how other apps that have not been retina ready looked on the RMBP? Pixellated? Looks bad. Worst than the last gen MBP without Retina Display. This post has been edited by PS3.Gamer: Jun 22 2012, 10:08 AM

Hmm... I might get this to accompany my 256GB MBPRD once I get it: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE Thunderbolt has been extremely slow to gain traction, but Buffalo Technology is joining the fray with a new low-cost external hard drive that supports the high-speed port. The MiniStation Thunderbolt itself doesn't look special — it's a 2.5-inch hard drive wrapped in a white-and-silver plastic exterior — but when you look at the port selection you'll see that there is indeed something different about this portable drive. In addition to a sole Thunderbolt port, there's a USB 3.0 port. That means that this drive will work with both Macs and PCs (though you'll need to swap file systems, of course), so you won't be stuck with a drive that only works with new, Thunderbolt-enabled machines. Thankfully, the drive is bus powered, leaving it as one of the few Thunderbolt drives that doesn't require an external power source. We decided to put the MiniStation Thunderbolt through a quick speed test with a new MacBook that we had on hand, which supports both Thunderbolt and USB 3.0. Of course, the 2.5-inch platter in the external drive is the limiting factor — not these high-speed interfaces — but there was a slight different in performance depending on how we connected the drive. Over Thunderbolt the drive achieved 106.88 MB/sec sequential read and 102.59 MB/sec sequential write speeds (256KB blocks), and over USB 3.0 almost all was the same except for the read speed, which was about 10 MB/sec less. Overall it isn't a significant difference: what's important is that the device is one of the first affordable Thunderbolt drives around at $199.99 for the 500GB model and $229.99 for 1TB. If you're tempted, both will be available on June 25th, and you'll be glad to hear that both a Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 cable are included. QUOTE(loisjeans @ Jun 22 2012, 10:59 AM) Well, its being released on the 25th (3 days to go), so it might take a while to get to our shores. Apple resellers should be stocking it, if not try the usual spot, Low Yat Plaza.

QUOTE(Eidilfitrix @ Jun 23 2012, 11:49 PM) Okay thanks, it's good to have honest feedbacks not like other forummers where they bought a new RMBP, all the feedbacks they gave is just pure bias and can't stop complimenting their beloved product as if it doesnt have any single flaw. No offence +1 Agreed! This post has been edited by PS3.Gamer: Jun 24 2012, 02:20 AM

QUOTE(Eidilfitrix @ Jun 24 2012, 06:48 AM) Tht dude moans a lot because he thought he spend on something which he thought the greatest laptop Apple has ever made and which he had in mind had no flaws with it. All he does here was just posting how good and excellent the wallpapers looked like, which doesn't contribute much to my point of view of having the rMBP. Let's run down the apps and scrutinize how the software really works with the rMBP. He's like "hey i just bought a new car, look how good it looks, but he didn't really mention much on how good and reliable the performance of the car" Do you get what i mean? +1 Not EVERYONE has a RDMBP yet, those who do, good. But we want to discuss about it and its pros and cons. Not see the wallpapers and videos and it supports. Because that's not the only thing thats going to judge weather we buy it or not. But some are just excited with their new toy I guess.

Still no stock at the stores. MacStudio and EpiCentre said by the end of the week. Machines said probably two weeks.
I guess I have to get mine in Switzerland if it doesn't come to our shores by this week. Price is going to be a killer!

QUOTE(erymanthus @ Jun 25 2012, 10:43 PM) Yup, you are right. The speed is not really a deal breaker. My main headache now is whether 256 Gb is enough or should I go for 512GB SSD. Cost difference around RM1900... Tough call... Sigh Exact same problem I have bro. But I thought with that RM2k difference to get a USB3.0 external HDD.
