I wonder when it will be available in Malsysia

I saw the vid this laptop was designed for education (like uni, schools..etc) so it was built for durability

The design is good, at least from my point of view. But still, my biggest concern still about whether or not it will run too hot as HP DM1.

If it running a bit too hot as the HP DM1, then I wouldn't mind if it is not coming.

if TS cant wait for trinity based laptop..maybe can consider the following model :>

i personally think that this is the best bang for sub-RM1500 laptop..if got extra budget can add in SSD too..

Asus A43TK - VX024V - 14”

1.5GHZ A6 - 3420 (a decent low speed quad core anyway, but u wont feel it is slow neither)
2GB DDR3 1333 MHz Memory
500GB 5400-rpm hard drive
AMD Radeon HD 7670 - 1GB

Rm 1, 399 -FreeDos

one of the most affordable yet good performance lappy for uni students and normal office works :>

yea in what front?

its been great actually. An AMD APU system is very balanced, good CPU and good GPU

who cares about how fast PI calculates? yea intel wins there. But For everyday mobile use/gameplay the AMD APU is superior.

No doubt about the iGPU performance but the CPU.. DV6z-7000 series owner said their Trinity APU can't do CrossfireX because their dGPU(HD7730M) based on GCN and iGPU(7660G) on VLIW-4 architecture. No need compare to Intel, just compare with previous Llano A8 and the cpu is quite a downer. laugh.gif

not against AMD,
technician / repairers like AMD models cuz they know higher chance they can earn money by "touching it".
been numb to AMD machines after so many yrs of experience.

Exactly. That is why even AMD Bobcat-based APU sells very well. If it wasn't for Intel dirty business practive, AMD would have done even better with Trinity.

Trinity proc even lose to Llano. Its not a true quad cores unlike Llano and u can overclock Llano easily to reach i3 or even i5 level.

Yeah, the quad is not like the so-called true quad like Llano. But did Llano beat Trinity of the same clock speed?

in short its an excellent mobile platform.. no one wants to run cinebench or calculate pi on their laptop, and for the avrage users a balanced architecture like the APU is better

I just wish a vendor makes a premium laptop.. AMD is always offered on "lower end" models.

Think Sony Vaio... with good quality build and AMD APU

It worth if you are ULV type of person. AFAIK Llano never had ULV version and Trinity do.

If the notebook has AMD APU, then it is not an ultrabook. As simple as that. Perhaps you don't have to get it from US as I'm sure it will come to malaysia in a few months time.

Like most of AMD APU models, they will eventually come here. And I'm sure AMD want to expend their sales as soon as the volume permit.

I am not sure but I don't think it is going to be too long. But the ULV model like the 17W and 25W is expected to experience some shortage initially until production/demand stabilize. That is what I heard.

I gather that you are one of AMD loyal fan here. Same here. thumbup.gif

I also hope we can at least have an AMD PR rep here to answer all of our question. AMD even have their global packing plant here in Malaysia for crying out loud.

The price, looks and specs are good for an ultrabook, I just wonder how does the 7500G fare against Intel HD 4000. Read online it is supposed to be the slowest in the whole Trinity series.

I am sure you did not compare the fastest (most expensive) version of Intel mobile integrated GPU with the slowest (cheapest) from AMD, right?

If you ask me. I would say that the early adopter will always have to pay the higher price. Whether or not you can wait for a few month after the launch or grab it as soon as it is available is totally up to you. Well, what do you think?

4455 is kinda weak for RM1899.
4655 will be going into the 14" samsung.
the thing with samsung, their matte screens is way too blurry. i prefer matte over glossy, but samsung is nope.avi.
guess i'll wait for hp envy.

only the a10-4600m + discrete gpu seems worth it though. the lower tier ones better get a core i3 + discrete gpu of ur choice. Unless by the time it reaches Malaysia, the price would have dropped considerably.

One thing about these APU, one should consider getting high speed memory if looking for good gaming performance because it could determine whether a game is playable or not. Memory bandwidth scaling on Trinity APU's.

On ultrabook-like platform, most company embedded the memory on motherboard itself could mean it's impossible to upgrade to faster memory when available.

We should have this kind of policy so we can get a product they we really want. Of course measures should be in-place to avoid abuse.

Just received the laptop in the mail today. Overall, extremely satisfied at the build quality and price for the options I chose.

Running the 7660g in crossfire with the 7670m, here are some benchmarks. (more to come with your suggestions)

~ 3dMark11 Performance Mode - P2233. (have a screenshot if you guys need it)
~ Minecraft High Settings - Avg. 45 FPS.
~ Oblivion Ultra High 1080p with AA8x (best everything) - Ranged from 36-56 FPS
~ Heaven Benchmark 1080p stock settings - 666 points/ 676 points on 2nd run/692 on third run.
~ Heaven Benchmark 768p w/Tessellation 'Normal' - 838 points.

8.4k in 3DMark06 is pretty good imo. I doubt it ran in CFX since APU CFX is still unsupported in DX9 API.

You can go for Samsung 13.3" come with AMD Trinity ULV APU only at RRP RM1899. You should get lower price than RRP. Looks like an ultrabook. U can use the money left to buy yourself more RAM and an SSD. thumbup.gif

^ not a wise move from Asus to use HD7730M instead of HD7670M imo. You can't CFX HD7730M with the A10. Should have go for HD7770M/HD7850M.
