Blatant knockoff or genuine competition?

hmm.. it gives me a complete different feel from nendo.. sure they are super-deformed type.. but i wouldn't say it is a knockoff..

chibi super-deformed figures were in the market long before nendo.. the first i know of (at least for me) are the kamen rider's during my primary school years

anyway.. some good competition from other makers might be good to push GSC to produce more quality nendo perhaps?

what make GSC nendo stand out is swappable faceplate feature like other didn't have.
or hair maybe...

later on they make posable nendo... but scarify the looks of the figure...ya...round joints kills the look of figure like figma, DD, revotech etc... unless that is mecha theme figure.

hm.. i don't think they will move nendo towards the bjd category.. more like they will improve on the movable joints like in Saber, HMO miku, and last year snow miku..

chibi figurines were always around, but i doubt any one particular series has garnered as large a following as nendroids.
also, the chibi figurines i collected before weren't quite as large as nendroids iirc.

i kinda like the new koto offerings. head's smaller and better feet. sounds like a win to me. hope their faceplates are interchangeable too but that's probably asking for too much!
