Wah so fast installed already blink.gif Great to have an idea of what to expect later rclxms.gif
QUOTE
What I have in mind is, if I have a rear stabilizer(not talking about ULAR), those actual flexible stabilizer with hinge that can auto adjust angle whel 1 wheel off road, then my rear wheel will be able to catch up with my front wheels. I'd say the car will be freaking stable and feels like LRT cornering!

That will be your next upgrade brows.gif
QUOTE
Steering response become sharp and sensitib! Left turn almost went into longkang, quikly twist back almost ram into the cars parked at roadside! Slow down abit & adjust my angle, realise it take less action to turn the car(change direction). In short, increased of turning radius.

If the steering is more sensitive, doesn't that mean decreasing the turning radius, as you don't have to turn the steering so much to achieve the same effect as before?
QUOTE
1st impression on rear strut bar,ass become damn rigid!when I reverse the car out from the factory, immediately I felt different(not placebo). Butt movement has been reduced to...may be 0? Normally if I went through the gate rail, 1 wheel pass by the car sway 1 side, another wheel went by the car sway the other side. By right all driver/passenger will muntah. With rear strut bar, the car just "jumped" and that's it!

Judging by your experience do you recommend installing the rear bar as well? Oh and is drilling required? Does it "makan" boot space? Oh it's getting dark but can you upload pix tomorrow? thumbup.gif

QUOTE
Fyi me hv read that a car's suspension is tuned to accomodate its body ability to flex as it moves...as a normal road-going vehicle. So if the body is made to NOT able to flex accordingly, its suspension wld not be in tune. And thus wld not function in tandem & in harmony to produce the ride that it was meant to be.

I am no suspension tuning expert and whatever I say is purely out of my limited knowledge from reading around. I do get where you're coming from, in the sense that the stock suspension system was designed taking everything into account and if one part is modified it may adversely affect the other parts that weren't accounted for. Example, Unker David's post above, he feels the rear suspension can't keep up now and it needs a rear stabiliser bar to balance it out. But still, like you admitted with your FSB, a bit of stuff here and there can make a difference and improve things.

QUOTE
If one were to juz browse arnd, one wld be surprised at the no. of bars even juz for our simple Saga!! Is our Saga that UNsafe w/o them?

Nobody's adding these bars primarily for safety. Though I guess they would help prevent the chassis (passenger compartment) from deforming in an accident, after reading the testimonies at UR's website.

QUOTE
Consequently, unless yu use yr Saga for more than going to work or taking fmly & frens out for normal road trips, over-stiffening of a vehicle's body/chassis wld result in effects not for the daily casual driver to handle.

Well I think that's why people mod their cars, to try something new, hoping for improvement and to adapt to the changes. I believe what you're trying to say is that adding all these bars should be done in moderation and yes, you're right. My Gaga is 100% stock (if you don't count the battery and tyre change a few weeks ago) and this is my first step towards exploring the effects of these suspension tuneups.

QUOTE
Over to yu...any decision is alwaz in our own hands. Make a wise one.

You know, after reading Unker David's writeup he nearly poisoned me to get the rear strut bar too. I was so tempted to ask Mahihi if there's stock for the RSB. But I think I'll hold back for now. The other week when I told my friend I'm getting a FSB he told me to add the full set, fender bars, undercarriage braces, etc. I thought that was too much and didn't consider it, but then again I don't blame him because he got into a serious accident a few months ago (head on collision against a drunk driver) and the roll cage in his Wiga saved him from serious injuries.

QUOTE
If yu do hv those "feel good" feelings @time of purchase & while using it till today, feel yu shld not rush into all those "stiffening" mods.

I have driven more expensive cars before, ranging from RM 200-300k and I'd say that those cars may be fast, comfortable and powerful but they are nowhere as fun to drive as the Gaga. I remember chauffeuring my boss around in her Mersilis but at the end of the day when I drove my Gaga it brought a smile on my face. For the price, I am pretty satisfied with this car but I feel things could be further improved on the handling side. As you can see on Fuelly I drive mainly for economy (though there were times last year when I'd frequently rev to 6k RPM) but I also do enjoy taking corners faster than the average driver (probably still slower than some of you here though). After test driving the FLX on the windy Batu Ferringhi - Teluk Bahang road the other week I really like the FLX's suspension and wished it was originally tuned that way on the BLM.

Anyways, I am still feeling good about my Gaga, and I agree with you that we should take things slowly. For those of you who think you're considerably knowledgeable and you know what you're doing, feel free to do as you wish smile.gif

Probably the reverse switch that activates both the sensor and light are busted. Go to service centre and have it changed.

QUOTE(huzaifa136 @ Jul 6 2012, 11:24 PM)
all i can say, blm and flx suspension very different. it might work with blm, but in stiffer flx, it will hv less effect than blm. flx also taller esp at rear, even taller than fl..

imho, flx rides harder than civic, what about blm compared to civic ride feeling?
*
How is the FLX stiffer? It's still the same chassis. And what effect you're referring to?

Drove a Civic FD2 earlier last year, but I can't remember how it felt like.

QUOTE(dares @ Jul 6 2012, 11:30 PM)
In the case of BLM/FL, AFAIK the argument is void because the suspension was tuned for Savvy. So the suspension was not designed for the sedan version of Savvy aka Saga to begin with.
*
No wonder. Ahh I wished Potong had designed the BLM's suspension properly dry.gif

Well, have fun attacking corners!! brows.gif

Personally, here's my experience when installing only an FSB on my Saga BLM.

When I switched from my Kelisa to the Saga, I fell in love with the Saga. When I added the FSB, I fell in love with the Saga all over again. wub.gif

The car handles much better and feels safer to me. It just feels so good around corners now. I'm attacking them faster and faster. sweat.gif
*
Never driven a Kelisa before but I thought it's Perodua's best handling car?

Before they service your car they will print out a sheet of paper with the list of things to be done. So before you sign it, make them delete the unnecessary stuff.

QUOTE(huzaifa136 @ Jul 7 2012, 09:12 PM)
flx does hv stiffer/harder springs and thicker arb

i mean the suspension not chassis, and mybe im confused
strut bars are meant for chassis but also affect suspension?
strut bars are used for suspension which also attached to chassis right?
but it will only be obvious as the car flex thru corners

i'm not comparing handling or cornering

in civic fd the ride still harsher than say toyota, but flx is even harsh than both
the owner/driver must knows what to expect  smile.gif
*
Yeah the FLX does have stiffer springs and thicker front ARB. The strut bar doesn't directly affect the suspension like the ARB, but by making the chassis stiffer (especially at the strut towers, crucial point) it allows the suspension system to function better. See the Cusco video posted a few pages back? The shock absorbers have more travel with the FSB.
