but from what i can sense that ur throwing a statement, not a discussion. u are providing a harsh conclusion and u are firm with ur stand. ur statement annoys certain people and u dun feel bad with that.

i might not be the right person to comment over anything. but at least a respect is required in a big forum like lyn. we dun argue to win a debate, but to work out for the solution or maybe a round conclusion which might solve our questions.

that solve my confuse due to a 1.3 car using a 1.6 engine with a question mark in my mind..how can that 1.3 car body sustain a 1.6 engine power stress? as what i understand 660-1.2 is 1 level, 1.3-1.5 is 1 level, 1.6-1.8 is 1 level, then 2.0-2.4 is the final level for normal cars..

economical efficiency, make sense.cut cost to be exact. hmm.gif

Though I did remember that for the first Satria models the 1.3 chassis wasn't as strong as the 1.8 GTi's? I think that is one of the exceptions. Let me see if I can dig up stuff on it.

tat is different. if im not wrong, satria was derived from wira, and wira was derived from lancer. so make sense if that body can sustain 1.8 coz it was lancer at the start, just hatch-backed.

Eh the Satria was from the 5th gen Mitsubishi Colt but it's probably very similar to the Lancer which the Wira was based on. I'm not really familiar with the older Potong models.

PS look at the current Colt, really looks like a mini Lancer from the front laugh.gif

IINM, the Satria GTi had chassis enhancements. Therefore a stronger chassis compared to the other Satrias. It was, afterall, meant to be an enthusiast car.

Chassis can not be enhanced, its molded that way according to the design, and thats it.

Err... perhaps this is again another MISunderstanding. There are no changes on the chassis between 1.3,1.5,1.6 and 1.8 engine Satria. Satria GTi indeed improved on the SUSPENSION, include lighten/strengthen lower arm, harder suspension, brakes and any other detachable foot work equipment.

V12k is partially right about the chassis thingy, if you read the chassis code you may find most vehicle share the same chassis. Such as dugong family changes Chassis more often back in the old days, KE10(60's), KE20(early 70's), KE30(late 70's), KE70(late 70's). More of your familiar starting from 80's is KM36(Toyota hiace... WTF?! uses the chasis back in 70's)?! Thats why those car can really DRIFT, because the stiffness of the chassis + lorry type leaf spring suspension! shakehead.gif

After that, Dugong decided to ditch rear wheel power and go FF. Started with AE80(I assume you watch Initial D AE86 is the only and latest modern Toyota rear wheel drive before ALTEZZA). Later, AE has been roaring on the road for another 20+ years before Altis taking over, which all the Toyota become Dugong from that day onwards. All tall² and fat², very comfortable. notworthy.gif

For Mitshi.... CP9A, CP7A....all the while uses same chassis shakehead.gif Ebo 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,78,8,89,9,65,245,235,2352,345,2345,4132 looks like they're not going to change FOREBER!!!!

Unker, before anyone comments on the chassis part, I want to point out that Dugong specifically refers to the current gen Vios car only, NOT TOYOTA OR THEIR OTHER CARS sweat.gif sweat.gif

Better send for checkup asap. U nvr know whether it affaect your tyre wear, dun wait until later tayar makan sebelah. Not sure whether got warranty since bushing is consider wear & tear. Good luck.

The strut bar makes the car more stable during cornering? Then what's the difference for 3 point and 4 point?
*
No, strut bar doesn't make much affect to driving experience. It may improve track time 0.2seconds/lap, provided professional driving skill + damn a lot os tight hairpin curve presents. Otherwise you'll feel exactly no change. According to my previous experience, if all 3 bars(front strut, rear strut & room bar) installed, hai speed cornering become very stiff. No room for mistake or the car easier to spin. No idea whether placebo or real effect.

For example, when you hit the right apex, roll on the curb to achieve efficient lap time:

With chassis flex, the left suspension will be able to continue adjust & absorb any extra movement.

Without chassis flex, suspension will not be able to absorb extra movement, the oversteer situation become under as rejected by the apex curb. Driver will have to continue adjust steering wheel to keep the car at the most efficient racing line!

However, the above situation ONLY applicable when you attacking corner with enough G-Force to bend your chassis, otherwise your car should feel exactly the same with/without strut bar, may be felt extra few hundrad grams heavier with the strut bar.

Evo mana ada use same chassis? Sometimes automakers will still name their chassis closely to their predecessor, like Evo it starts from CD9A (E1), then CE9A (E2 & E3), CN9A (E4), CP9A (E5 & E6), CT9A (E7,8,9) and finally CZ9A (E10).

Even the new R35 GT-R although is the continuation of the legendary 1990s Nissan Skyline GT-R series (R32-R24), it doesn't share the same chassis. Its chassis is unique and therefore it has a different name to it. CBA-R35. Older Skyline GT-R are BNR3x

And the dugong doesn't have any family. LOL
It was created to slot into the market in the early 2000s when the Corolla has grown big and became more expensive. It doesn't have any deep roots like its Corolla big brother.
