As a Third/First Person Perspective Game, WSAD will blend the controller(player) into the game MUCH BETTER than Mouse.
( You control your ingame char like blending yourself in game )
For those CHINESE MAKE MMORPG, you use mouse. ( robotic actionless RPG, simply click, animation replay, click, animation replay )

For Highly Action Packed RPG/FPS ( 1st/3rd Person perspective )
First Person : BF3, CoD, Crysis. of if you dont know these game, think the Counter Strike....
3rd Person : Tera Online, GW1, GW2, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Kingdom of Amalur
Did you ever try those high blood pressured PVP in these game??? (TERA,GW1+2)
Dodge is PURELY count on your reflexes (how fast/precise you hit the move key to dodge the attack)
Dodge is not a computer calculation based on your stat, LIKE DIABLO = Dodge = XX%
Different Genre......... 

Diablo 3 is a Fixed 45 Degree Eagle View Game.
( You control your in-char like one of your summoned unit. )
Think SC2, Red Alert, Dota....

For some other games like
Street Fighter, KoF, Platformer
Gamepad is preferred.

For NFS, Dirt
Keyboard / Wheel is good enuf

For Pro Evo Soccer/FiFa
Dont ask me to play with mouse. Idiot...
And i DO hope you DIDNT pay the USD60 for this game. You guys should go play some casual game(less action packed) like D3 or Chinese MMO.
