Are chances to get those rare high DPS item only happen if you play in a group? Can still get such item if just go solo all the time?

i just sold a mace 740 dmg, 70 dex, 100 vitality, 880 loh, i sokcted it with star amethyst(total loh 1180) for 12 usd.
It is too low?
The mace sells so fast..
And i got a bow 960 dmg, 100dex, 6% ias, 50s% crit dmg, and a socket.
how much should i put this.
BTW, how did u guys manage to sell your tome of secrets? i never manage to sell even one......any tips guys?

Tips: LUCK, a lot of them.
Your Mace sold quite a good price (about 5mil gold)
as for bow, that is 1H or 2H? 2H 1.2k dmg above only got market.
