Yes, not all people like Android. But what is business? You should capture the market and WHAT PEOPLE WANTS.

Nice and good summary. Nokia would have been better off investing in Symbian and perfecting it instead of switching to Windows Phone. Instead they killed their golden goose for the wolf in sheep's clothing.

Interesting read. But to be fair Samsung copies and enhances very well compared to those cheap China knock-offs.

I have more respect for Nokia in the hardware-design department, their polycarbonate (N9, Lumia 800) and aluminium (N8) phones are some of the best looking and feeling devices ever made.

But Nokia's weakness has always been lack of focus on software. Symbian has always had glaring bugs but WP7 was beta software.

Things are not gonna change for Nokia if this is all for Sep 5...sigh

The wireless charging sounds cool actually. The design of the phone is more colourful than Android phones and iPhones.

But nothing will overtake Android's market share if it doesn't have an open file system that developers and modders can use.

i just noticed the lumia pictures are also misleading.
especially this one.
see shadow on the tree, see the girl also getting lighted up, and the sky looking like that means got at least 2 external light sources shining.
so basically the shot isnt from natural light, and nokia cheated by lighting up the whole scene to trick ppl into believing the lumia do that...just like their OIS...zzz.

Real in the sense they were taken from PureView camera not a DSLR... but they were taken in a better light than the SGS3 ones.

actually look closely at that pic on the left side where the blue shirt person is, you can see a DSLR lens just poking out from the frame.

Yes but we don't know if the DSLR was used initially to gauge the position for where to put the phone. All I know is that Nokia played a dirty trick when they were showing the comparison photos between the 920 and SGS3.

I agree that the whole thing is dodgy anyhow.

Nokia's marketing department is basically one of the most arrogant out there.

- They always crash other companies events. I remember they sent people to HTC's Desire HD event, Samsung's ATIV event to remind them that Nokia event is happening soon.

- They like to criticize other companies with lies. They called iPhone users Beta testers when they released the Lumia 900. Turns out WP7 was the Beta test.

- They waste time with retarded ads like this one with the girls stripping in russia. They think that sex will sell phones. Apple's ads are always about the phone.

You can blame it on Stephen Elop and all the Nokia executives that let him in. If Nokia continues making losses in 2013, I don't see him staying as CEO for long.

Giving up Symbian, the OS with the largest mobile marketshare, for Windows Phone, an OS that practically didn't have any marketshare?

Future business students will know him as one of the worst CEOs that ever existed.
