I still smell something fishy here, and I still think that 808 PureView is the Purest PureView we can ever get.
like N8 Nokia 808 - V02 - [The King of Camera Phones], PUREVIEW - The Legend of Camera Phone!!!

QUOTE(ne0cz @ Sep 7 2012, 01:02 AM) Damien is quite a purist and I don't think this half assed Lumia 920 is worthy to carry the name pureview after what we were treated with in the 808 Not sure about Damien, just wait for him. However, since he's working under Nokia, he might have to help and protect the company as well. Anyway, all I can say is, originally, the actual PureView for Lumia wasn't planned for this early devices. WP8 is still NEW and there's many things to work on. I would see that the PureView is supposed to be use on a flagship camera Lumia smartphone. BUT, Nokia needed something badly to promote their Lumia running WP8, they need it badly. There seems to be nothing to show off or special about the new Lumia, the hardware isn't very good either. The have to face tough competition from Samseng, HTC and others. Plus, in WP7, Nokia lost against HTC, right? Despite being so special with ties with MS.... and HTC weren't even focusing on WP7. Let's be honest, many people would buy the Lumia JUST because of the "PureView" word. It's no matter what or how I see it, a markting purpose. They build and fame the "PureView" term using 808 PureView. Now it can help to boost Lumia sales. |

Yes but we don't know if the DSLR was used initially to gauge the position for where to put the phone. All I know is that Nokia played a dirty trick when they were showing the comparison photos between the 920 and SGS3. |

All I know is that Nokia played a dirty trick when they were showing the comparison photos between the 920 and SGS3. thats why God gave ppl eyes, to gauge where to put the phone Added on September 7, 2012, 11:09 amits not like the phone has no LCD that you cannot judge the framing and so need something else to help... which reminds me of something else now...for a 26 / 28mm fov...the pictures doesnt have that much distortion for something taken quite close up...so very likely a much better lens like from a DSLR is used... I agree that the whole thing is dodgy anyhow.
Nokia's marketing department is basically one of the most arrogant out there. - They always crash other companies events. I remember they sent people to HTC's Desire HD event, Samsung's ATIV event to remind them that Nokia event is happening soon. - They like to criticize other companies with lies. They called iPhone users Beta testers when they released the Lumia 900. Turns out WP7 was the Beta test. - They waste time with retarded ads like this one with the girls stripping in russia. They think that sex will sell phones. Apple's ads are always about the phone. |

such a difference to how when 808 was introduced, no lame trickery but full glorious 38MP original resolution images with complete EXIF freely available for everyone to inspect and scrutinize. Come to think of it, there're also zero hint of pureview phases in the original plan, most probably a lame elop instructed changes to cater for mainstream supermodel thin smartphone. This 808 that we are holding today might probably be the last smartphone will such high mp count in history until maybe we have alien technology to defy physics, a collector item as some symbian blog defined it.
Added on September 7, 2012, 12:33 pmThe Internet is scary. The Pureview brand is severely destroyed in less than 24 hours. This post has been edited by hox: Sep 7 2012, 12:33 PM |
