QUOTE(li_5997 @ Aug 28 2012, 11:24 PM) Guys, It is also a good smartphone, but not the best. But it does have the best camera, period. just droppin by to ask about the phone: Is it worth it to buy nokia 808.. what i can see is that the only good thing is the camera and nothing else, is it true? Buy a phone based on your usage. If you use the smartphone portion (apps, web) a lot more and once in a while use the camera, you're better off with something else. i think this is deliberate from Microsoft / Elop.
They've got what they wanted. All the patents and tech from Nokia, i.e. Maps, Ovi store, GPS, Pureview. Now they'll just discard the shell i.e. Nokia and in the process destroy Nokia's reputation and any hope of Meego / Symbian getting back into the top tier Smartphone market. |

Free joikuspot has many limitations / port restrictions. The paid one supposedly will work with "most" stuff. Too expensive at RM20 though, for something i will use once in a blue moon. If it was RM2 / RM4 like most apps I would get it.
Too bad the cheaper alternative, EZSpot is "not verified" to work with Belle / 808. Not sure if Nokia or the developer is lazy to submit compatibility testing. |

QUOTE(emino @ Sep 18 2012, 12:06 PM) I bought my Premium Joikuspot back in n97 mini days, when migrate to N8 they offer me to buy S^3 version for only $1. Then when I use 808, I email them whether I can get enw one for my 808 and they give FOC. Waaah lucky! So is the premium one worth it ? Will wait for sale at least (if there is any!). |

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Sep 18 2012, 04:56 PM) Yes, the ad-hoc is the main issue even paid-premium version. Only Symbian and Maemo/MeeGo smartphones able to connect, but even on premium version, some services cannot be used (e.g. MeeGo built-in upload service). I suppose there's still some restriction even on premium version. Agreed. The ad-hoc only mode is a big turn off for Android tablet owners. I'm a pc tablet user, so no worries there. Since ad-hoc only, can't share with Android and some other device, moreover this need to pay; whereas Android tethering is built-in. Guess it still needs more work / better app. Nokla y u no develop ??? |

I feel the new keyboard (while responsive/good) is a tad too "big". Especially with the new T9 predictive row at the top. Typing in landscape mode in Whatsapp covers the entire conversation window. So i disabled the predictive text, leaving about 2-3 rows of space; enough to see the last 2 sentences of the latest chat window.
