the issue here is not simulations, every product ads do that..its lying to customers by not putting disclaimer on the ads. Marketing ethics 101.

such a difference to how when 808 was introduced, no lame trickery but full glorious 38MP original resolution images with complete EXIF freely available for everyone to inspect and scrutinize. Come to think of it, there're also zero hint of pureview phases in the original plan, most probably a lame elop instructed changes to cater for mainstream supermodel thin smartphone. This 808 that we are holding today might probably be the last smartphone will such high mp count in history until maybe we have alien technology to defy physics, a collector item as some symbian blog defined it.

Can you imagine Nokia didn't went Microsoft but continue with Symbian, the new model after 808 will be gazillion year ahead of other smartphones. Now they have to pathetically go back 5 years again to match WP OS

Frens asked me whether to switch back to iPhone or not, i said hell no, i'll wait for iPhone 10 LOL

After looking again at the 100+ print of my pics previously, i've decided to change my default 8MP Pureview mode to 36MP Full Resolution at all time except for Macro shots. I want to preserve as much details as possible, you'll never know you need them in future. And megapixel is not something you can fix later compared to noise reduction algorithms which are improving every year in apps like Lightroom and Photoshop. Using the 5 Stack Technique for example in Photoshop you can create similar Pureview treatment on your 36/38MP photos.

After using FP2 for a week, I can say this is the most refined and polished Symbian OS update ever, everything is noticeably smoother and snappier from the UI, apps, widget, camera to even the WEB browser. I've yet to launch Opera for a week, very impressive.

i think there will be another update to the fp2 released last week, further tweak on the noise and focus for 808 camera (via twitter)..thats why it was pulled

asked the pureviewclub guy to do some testing on these, he will be posting something soon. As for me no time to do any test but so far no different whatsoever to fp1...maybe im too engrossed with the awesome new UI

i ll check with few nokia engineers for confirmation too

ya another reason i went all full res now, esp when you print out those blurred 34MP, look sharper even than those non-blurred 8MP and i called this The Pseudo-OIS technique

as for whether to buy 808 or not, as i always say, if you really need to ask that question, big chances are you wont be happy with it. i'm saying this not in the sarcastic-way but trying to be helpful-way. most who bought it and happy with it already know it clearly they wanted this phone and know it pros and cons in the first place.

on the fp2, i heard from a fren who heard from a fren's fren at nokia (so take this with a pitch of salt!) that Nokia is trying to keep pureview 808 quiet temporarily out of the blogosphere and tech news coverage, so all the buzz are generated on 920 with no confusion on the other pureview 41MP anomaly. so expect some delay for fp2.

Added on September 21, 2012, 8:37 amgot confirmation on the ground at photokina with nokia rep - the leaked 1506 FP2 has no changes to camera software, just bug fixes like on video stablization n manual ISO. So the issues with lower quality, noise n focus posted by some users are not true.

fp2 is back in navifirm, same version 1506...probably allowed by elop after lumia pureview had enough limelight ady..

woot! fp2 is out together with these 2 new updates. this official release 1507 is slightly newer than the leaked one 1506. Very recent Sep 21, compared to 31 Aug for 1506. So, press *#0000# and fire up software update, or if you want a clean install, use the Nokia Suite...enjoy your soon brand 'new' phone

OTA preserves all datas. The only problem with OTA, you might not get 100% of all the updates.

i don't think we'll be seeing anymore update for swype to work on fp2 anytime soon, another one of those 'Forever Beta' Nokia apps. anyway, the new multi-touch keyboard is awesome if you do not rely heavily on swype.
