There are some that I've heard its not coming with FHD screen?  rclxub.gif  hmm.gif
*
Hmmm.. isn't 1366x768 in 15.6 good enough"? Compared to 23" 1080p, pixel's density is still higher --> crispier right ?

15.6"1366x768 = 10097 pixels / sq. in
23" 1080p = 9176 pixels / sq. in.

Source : tv calculator

Of course, 15.6" full HD even more crispier. But from one who is coming from 23" FHD i dun know what's so bad about it.. And again i7 + gt 650m should maximise GPU capability and play in 1080p will produce less frame rate, yes ? Or gt 650m already maxéd with this i5 ? tongue.gif

FHD and HD, big difference? :0

May be n56vz fhd owner can test downscale to 1366x768 when gaming, look how the image/game would be. For desktop display, i am sure it'll be blurry as hell.

1080p = 2073600 pixels ~ 132923 pixels density
768p = 1049088 pixels ~ 67249 pixels density

Nearly twice pixels amount for the same screen size.

However, imho, the most important thing about display of screen quality is the panel itself. If the 1080p is using the exact same panel only different in terms of pixels amount. It will just look the same (colour, black depth, etc) apart from the sharpness.

768p version has monitor id "MONITOR\AUO24EC" it's from au optronics (googling)

AUO is still pretty decent. I think LG makes better panels though.

Yeah i mean, the one in n56vz hd i am currently using is ok, not the best i've seen in notebook though. Meanwhile, my dell u2311h's ips panel is made by LG rclxms.gif However i've seen LG mediocre TN panel too.. tongue.gif

Try this song.. butterfly by jason mraz or whatever you like that is quite bassy.. i use foobar set build-in volume 100% + 50% in system sound (tray).

Plug in and out the mini subwoofer.. check what's the different nod.gif

What i'm hearing is much more pronounced guitar bass and drum pedal.. try Armin sweat.gif Pretty good for a laptop though.

Using chrome n so far nothing... Just played dota2 ... Smooth but not as sharp as my bro fullHD monitor lol! Will try the Jason mraz setting n use the woofer to the MAX  brows.gif

This week sure got more n56 user since lowyat shops are restocking  cool2.gif
So far, not much problem with the laptop except the touchpad issue (main problem)
I Really don't want to face any ASUS after service problem  laugh.gif

Same.. actually i got my apostrope button ( " and ' ) is weird.. whenever i press it, nothing comes out but if continue typing or press spacebar it will display doh.gif No biggie though... Regarding speaker and subwoofer it's just better compared standard laptop.. but i guess 100-ish creative 2.1 set-up will provide a better sound of course.. each to their own. wink.gif

Do not forget to use high quality music files e.g CD or 320kbps mp3 files

Around 2 weeks of usage.. imo the 768p screen pane colour quality probably pretty standard.. i guess my old dv6000 is better.. Any recommendation of calibration setting ?

Is it me or the 768p panel shows faint and very small grey gridlines across the screen, subtly seen in certain colour ? or is it typical matte screen surface that does so ?

nope, nth like that  biggrin.gif can capture and let us see?
*
Okay i guess it is not grey lines actually.. it is just like the lines of pixel dot across the screen seems to pop out a little bit if i really focus on it.. it is a bit white on grey colour, only if put attention close to the screen.. sweat.gif being nitpicky actually.. you know when you have matte screen mobile phone with very low resolution.. it is just like as if you can see blocks of pixel dots, when you put every attention to it..

Or just try put attention to spesific horizontal bar exactly below our post in this forum or when you right click pay attention to the pop up box colour.. it is not like 100% solid and smooth.

Nevermind mate, it is acceptable since it's even lower pixel density than my 900p 20" and 1080p 23".

Err, that's only if U buy the fullHD version, i7 if u want 1080 setting. Yup, playable at high settings n the CPU hits 75 degree lol!

Don't think it is with a sataIII, anyone can confirm ... I ain't sure about hardware stuff lol sweat.gif
*
75 is considered high..? i play GTA IV medium-high setting with N56vz i5 version.. it is around 85 for both cpu & gpu rclxms.gif

Anyway... if could recommend for anyone who is really looking for display quality.. please consider anything else, the 1366x768 i5 version is poor, i just compared it to my friend's inspiron glossy display also at 1366x768. The maximum brightness, contrast, colour.. unfortunately poor smile.gif I am loving this laptop design, buidls quality, component inside.. but yeah.. just in case.

Question. Is it possible to change the display panel ? i am actually thinking to replace it after the warranty finish with better quality and at least 1600x900p. 2 years later though. brows.gif
