new user of N56Z i5 version reporting in. SO FAR i have non of the problems you guys mentioned here. It's a beautiful laptop and i'm loving it. Only thing lacking is the FHD screen, otherwise it would have been perfect! Got it from a forumer at RM2670 with 8GB 1333Mhz RAM upgrade, not the best deal.

Day 3 of usage, so far no problem. The speaker on the N56Z really rocks. And the laptop is really a beauty.

It is to me. The satisfaction of just looking at it each time i open up the laptop. Fuhhhhhhh. loll. Previously i was using Mozilla and does have frequent adobe flash player crashes but no more problem after i switch to Google Chrome.

And i did not realize any buzzing over the right speaker, i guess it gets better over time? The speakers on N56Z is extremely powerful, volume is super loud and good bass from the external sub.

Also i did not have problem with the unleveled touch pad. Everything seems perfect till now.

USB charger plus basically means you can still charge your devices when your laptop is off. It doesnt mean any faster in charging speed. There's only one port in N56V which supports this which is on the left 2nd port with the thunder logo.

check this out, http://www.windowsupgradeoffer.com/en-MY/Home/ProgramInfo

all PCs purchased between 2 June 2012 and 31 January 2013 will be eligible for this upgrade, doesnt matter what brand it is.

my credit card was charged RM46 for the upgrade (around 14.99USD). first sign up and receive the promo code then proceed to download.

8-10 seconds to boot to start screen from my Windows 8 and i'm on HDD. My friend whom is using the SSD - 1.5-2 sec!

Worth it to upgrade and i notice no compatibility issues. Everything working as usual in desktop mode. biggrin.gif

Yes bro, everything by far is compatible. you can leave all the driver update jobs to your asus liveupdate. and yes, you can do a clean installation.
