Zing! Nice one RVin

lol no need to be sarcastic
Journalists in most part of the world like in the US are bound by code of ethics. Sure we still have news that are bias to one party or the other but there are no laws to force them to be. It is by their own choosing. Like FOX is usually referred to as a Republican mouth piece. It is however not the only mainstream news channel. Everyone has a chance to have difference sources of info and make up their mind.
In Malaysia, the main stream media is control by the printing and publishing act whereby any media need to be approved from the ministry of information before being allowed to publish their stories. All newspapers and news channels need to submit their stories to the ministry to approve. Journalists in UTUSAN and The Star resigned on mass when the takeovers were done as they feared meddling. Just look at NST for example, the replacement of the word Scientology with Islam. Is this responsible reporting?
You may argue that we have the same freedom with the likes of Malaysiakini, MalaysianInsider, Harakah, DAPKini etc.. but these arent Main Stream media, they dont have mass circulation and dont reach out to everyone. Mostly people from the city have access but those in the rural areas only have RTM and TV3 as guides. Which are of course pro government channels. With absolutely no access to other channels.
As for the New York Post, it is reputable newspaper going back a hundred or so years. It has a generation of dedicated journalists who are committed to their job. Murdoch might own the paper, but he doesnt tell them what to write cause if that is the case, they would resign. Your argument is flawed at the first sentence as you dont even know the history of the paper.
