I put mine like this:
I understand that my notice period is 1 month notice as stated in my employment contract but I would like to join my new employer at the earliest date. Therefore, I would like to request a waiver on the total duration of the notice period offset by the number of leave days I have left. I leave this to the HR team expertise to calculate and determine my earliest effective termination date. Please be assured that I will do all I can to assist in the smooth transfer of my responsibilities during my notice period. |

QUOTE(bluehaven @ Jun 14 2012, 05:22 PM) I put mine like this: If you are not having a good relation with your boss, I highly doubt he will release you earlier to join the new company I understand that my notice period is 1 month notice as stated in my employment contract but I would like to join my new employer at the earliest date. QUOTE Please accept this as my formal notice of resignation from the position of xxx at yyy company, with effect from 1st January 2012. That was my resignation letter. No need to give reasons.I realize that my contract of employment requires me to work until 1st March 2012, however I would be grateful to be released earlier on 1st February 2012, and will assume that this is acceptable unless you inform me to the contrary. Please let me know the arrangements for handing over outstanding work and responsibilities. I will do my best to finish my current projects before my last day. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the management for the support and co-operation during my terms of employment with the company. Thank you. |

Why do you need the approval from your boss since you're buying out your remaining part of the contract? Legally can your boss say no?

Just buy out yourself or ask your new employer to buy you out.
If employer dont buy you out, dont join them. If you prefer to buy out yourself, you can state it in the letter saying "I would like to buy out the rest of the notice period after offsetting from AL and replacement leave". Please advise me ASAP on HR's or payroll's calculation on how much should I pay for the rest of the notice period or failing to do so would result me in not paying for it. |
