Some places do not have the latest map. KLIA has recent map of October 2012. KL city area, still old.

Lets say at the moment, travelling to current LCCT is much further than to the main terminal building of KLIA.

This new LCCT is much closer to the main terminal of KLIA, that means it is actually closer to KL city area than the current LCCT.

Aside from that, for transit passengers and non-passengers, shopping will be a big item as KLIA2 had been designed with retail component in mind, in fact its shopping space is larger than the other terminal of KLIA.

I guess they have to for sure.

The current LCCT would be converted into cargo terminal, according to plan.

Malindo, the new rival will operate from KLIA 2.

They are being confident that the airport can open by 2/5/2014.

Probably end of this month, the terminal shall get completion certificate and it can be handed over to MAHB for further testing.

I would say in terms of passenger experience (interior, shops etc), this could be better than KLIA main terminal as this terminal had been designed with retail aspect (shopping centre building plus more shops in the terminal itself) in mind

Unlike KLIA main terminal, passenger can access to taxi, bus and ERL train all at same spot.

MAHB better maintain the exterior panels of KLIA2 in timely manner, as the white colour of the panel needs constant maintenance and cleaning so that green stuff (algae) for example won't grow.
