I just saw this thread and I wanna rant out a little. We all know diamonds are practically useless and I am planning to ask for a hand in marriage next year. had that "talk" with her to gauge what she wants and she keeps on saying a diamond ring.
fml. it's not the price or money I have the trouble it's the damn worthlessness of it. why would anyone spend 15k on something that cannot be sold.
rant over.

QUOTE(v1n0d @ Jun 23 2016, 05:18 AM) RIP, materialistic wife-to-be. My partner agreed to skipping diamonds when we found out that there's no resale value for them. Better sit down and discuss whether or not you really need that diamond. If wanna show off to friends and family there are better ways to do it. exact. I did say you want an expensive diamond ring that you will wear it for the rest of your life and can't sell or you want a simple ring and I'll get you a car. until now no reply to that. lol

QUOTE(kenji1903 @ Jun 23 2016, 12:10 PM) to be frank... most of the time spending money is just to keep your other half happy... if the request is not to overboard, just do it... you don't want it to come back and haunt you and be a topic of argument after marriage, its not worth it and not everything has investment value... especially accessories... but you can try asking her if she wants a watch if you are splurging 15k, it makes more sense QUOTE(v1n0d @ Jun 23 2016, 12:22 PM) Lol. Then better you get the ring. I know one thing - money can earn, but if she is not happy about it she'll bring it up for the rest of your life. you guys make it sound like your wives are land mines. damn this is scary.
