hi all, would like to know from any owner of Y480, Y580 & N56:
1. Does your gear having any overheat problem? can you post temperature data showing temperatures at idle, and full load? especially interested to know if Asus N56 runs cooler than lenovo or not. 2. I read from here and cari.com that some owners of Lenovo modify their gear by taking out the dvd drive and place the hdd there with a caddy, and put an ssd in the original hdd slot. reportedly this lowers temp by 10c. - would this violate the warranty? 3. can we do step 2, by just moving the hdd but not putting any ssd (leave the slot empty)? 4. how much would the caddy cost? { actually i have asked this in another thread, but place here too hope to get more answers... http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...entry53686897 } Added on August 8, 2012, 8:34 pm QUOTE(zulfadzlis @ Aug 8 2012, 07:58 PM) hi, i need some education here...i read some sellers state warranty 2 yrs international - got any difference with warranty Malaysia? then what's with warranty given by shop? QUOTE(ShikimoriAki @ Aug 8 2012, 09:36 PM) There was a guy who asked lenovo Malaysia through facebook and lenovo Malaysia answered that they don't cover International Warranty... But most sellers say that international warranty can be used in Malaysia... I'm not quite sure of this, better get local warranty easier for us. ouch... many of the sellers here that sell these lappies at prices way below SRP, seem to be giving internal warranty wor... u guys not worried? |

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Aug 8 2012, 09:40 PM) not sure about Y580 but my laptop still will boot when i moved my main HDD to ODD bay and leaving HDD bay empty. thanks mate. wish to know from owners of Y580 if can do the same or not... Added on August 9, 2012, 6:25 am QUOTE(devour @ Aug 9 2012, 12:21 AM) LOl, i think most of u wrong interpret it =) hi boss, thanks for your detailed explanation. 1) currently , lenovo malaysia offer 2 year warranty for selected model (Malaysia official Set = u310 (i5 processor), u410 (i5 processor) ,z480, y480, y580. its obtain global warranty-also included local warranty 2) means , if any happen, within this 2 years (start of date purchase) , you can send the item to Lenovo Malaysia for warranty claim 3) when u travel to oversea such as US, you may show out the proof of purchase -and claim warranty in there 4) about they dont cover international warranty = its apply on those AP set ( mostly USA set / non Malaysia official Set ) only, means if you bought AP set, you could not claim warranty in Lenovo Malaysia because the unit is non official set . why ? as you can not show valid invoice ( if the unit is US set, u need show invoice from US -example you buy from wall mart...etc..) how funny if you show local reseller invoice while your unit is AP set, right ?? ok, when we buy from online sellers, or even from a shop, how do we know if they are AP set or not?
