go to sunway, got one shop can do... at the front of the shop got plenty sample number plate...
but the one that shop do is the sticker type...

hm... if you had been following the thread for some time...
some previan did mentioned the SC remap / update their ECU... some just merely reset & clear the error code... unfortunately based on info from one previan when he met with the CAT team, they mentioned there's so such thing as ECU remap.. my best guess is that they must have clear the error code, reset the ECU back to default and configure back based on a revised best setting for the preve..

just do like what me and my friend did to a EON brand few months back...
friend bought an Exora Bold, but the SA, well... did not commit to his promises (on helping with the number plate & NCD transfer... later on his OWV issues)... so my friend pakat with us ramai2 go there, buat2 like interested to buy... after 15-20 minutes chat2 with a few SA there, suddenly my friend came and say "oit, buat pe beli sini, kat sini lah aku beli Bold yg byk problem tu"... we all buat2 terkejut and ramai2 keluar from that showroom... not only us, there are about 4-5 customer also chow... 2-3 days later the SA called him to apologize and gave him freebies so as to jaga face lah... and he did keep his promise to help rectify my friend's Bold OWV issue with their service center...

i have yet to get the file list from bro amiruddin... thus can't be certain whether mod can be done on the HU... ie. whether the gps software and map is on the SD card or just the map on the SD... furthermore the file structure seems like it is based on linux... that would mean more mod need to be done...

based on research on other foreign based forums... as well as personal experience with friends who buy cars from japan/korea or europe... some of these vehicle come standard with a "propriety" based HU... means customized to that particular car maker... one example in the nissan contact which is developed by bosch specifically for nissan... in this case, the software update and map can only be obtained from nissan.. probably the same goes for the preve HU.. to make matter worst, whenever there is a software upgrade, they will eventually sell the updated SD... and not providing it free... btw, since the HU is so propriety to bosch, don't bother to find aftermarket reverse camera, coz it can't connect.. saw at kedai abang recently 4-5 preve owners have to use additional monitor for their reverse cam...

my best suggestion would be... the hell with the HU warranty... get a proper branded HU with GPS features and using WinCE platform which can be customized quite easily.. why worry about the warranty, if you buy new HU also comes with warranty...

got many SA in one showroom... if the SA don't give much discount / freebies, ask the other SA.. if all pakat2 dowan to give... cari showroom lain... we as customer have choice...

what to do... love to collect surat saman... got around 70+...
now local council pandai edi use court to collect back saman...
now no choice have to go court and settle... before they all link to jpj like what dbkl is doing...

had gone through the files, and based on my findings on other similar HU made by bosch...
part of the software in embedded into the HU which was initiated via the SD card during first load...
a short call to blaupunk also confirm this.. usually when there's update, the manufacturer will update the owner...
either through web (i doubt so in the case of proton), or during service... but with a fee for new SD card...
even the compatible rear camera also not sold locally yet by them... maybe later i guess...
so, maybe not possible to mod...
but if you ask me... i would change the HU... i rather have the gps separated... don't want the gps to kacau the song i'm listening...

i got saman from few places...
from penang... johor... the one i have to attend court is in penang...
2-3 years back punya saman...
they got the owner details from jpj system...
they use court not to blacklist the driver... its just the ganas method to get us to pay the saman...
mpsj only recently send me love letter say want to bring to court...

haha... you guys provided me with the details, so i owe you guys some info on the HU

prob can consider finding a compatible unit, maybe from blaupunkt? they have this 800 series which is quite good... and comes with iGo gps software (and can mod ).. heard that the back connector is the same... probably you can check in the preve HU manual whether it is the same as the one on blaupunkt website:

gps wise... i would prefer a separate unit.. just imagine while travelling long distance and listening to your favorite song... then out of the sudden.. the song volume were tone down and you hear "at the next junction, turn left" on your car speaker... tewww... sure feel hampeh after that... for the stand, i use something like this... bought at Imbi sometime back... very useful and non distracting... cost less than 15 bucks...

there are 3 links there, you can choose to download just the map, or the software update + map...
before you start, need to take note on few items:
i. check the software version of your unit (under info) v4? v5? the latest is v5.5.4 on the website...
ii. keep a record of your device tagging number...
iii. remember how your main screen interface look like (why? you will see there is option for atlas 2, 4 and so an.. to differentiate, use the interface as guideline for you to choose the right software update )

the rest is easy, just follow the instruction given... and do make backups of your SD before making any updates...
you can also register your warranty in the website...

for sopan santun driver shud be ok...
