So sorry to hear that.

The reverse sensor beeping reaction time is not as efficient and responsive as other makes.
If you reverse into an object which is far behind you, the sensor wont beep. Even when you are very close to the object also it won't beep because you did not stop the car COMPLETELY when you are close to the object behind you already. You MUST stop the car and wait for the sensor to refresh it's distance from the object and when it starts to beep again, then you reverse bit by bit until you hear the beep is continuos then you know there is only 1 feet apart from the object behind.

If Proton allows to install a reverse camera, I will change the reverse sensor to my Altis sensor as well.

My Review  biggrin.gif
Its a well planned. Planned off-day on last Friday, however due to last minutes confirmation by SA, postpone the collection on Saturday morning. Went there with my wife and kids along backpacks by taxi. Arrived at 8.35am, saw the car...goldie brown...fall in love  wub.gif . Brought together the checklist and two thumbdrives. Then my wife and kids having their breakfast, i'm the only to do the inspection. Everything looks fine, exterior and interior of the car. So far not spotted anything that can make me ask a question. The chassis no. is the same 59**. The SA showed the engine compartment. Mentioning everything about the engine including 5 years warranty for engine and 3 years for some parts.

There were some free gifts (umbrella,key-chain,RM50 petrol and tint voucher) has been given and the standard huddle which is just activated yesterday. Yet I am very satisfied getting the car almost 3 weeks from loan approval date, eventhough this is my 2nd time getting the chassis number after i reject the 1st one due to unavoided matters.
The odometer confirms the car has traveled 10km before delivery which is very acceptable. Then the SA explained certains important things about the car and also the maintenance guides. If want to get details, refer to manual book. First thing after we left the branch,I went to nearby Petronas for Primax 95 full tank (RM72.70). Then we went straight to PLUS highway heading to Melaka Wonderland.

Once shift the lever from 'P' to 'D' with brake released, the car already can move and enough power to cruise at 1500rpm. Within the speed between 80km/hr - 100km/hr in the highway, we explore the interior fittings and accessories, tried plugging in my thumdrive and the audio system works. testing the GPS also works (seems like lokatoo @ WinCe GPS system). Pairing samsung & motorola phones and tablet were successfully without needing a manual . The sound system very good to me compare to my previous waja. The brightness default setting level 3 is acceptable for me to see the meter panel and gear shift. Aircond setting between 25-30 deg, is already good for me. Both power source 120w front and back are covered by plastic 'penutup botol'cork type.

Driving back to Seremban via the old road ( Air Keroh-Alor Gajah-Rembau-Seremban), i tried the 'S' mode in certains places and condition. Its 'superb' and 'syiok', 1st time driving a turbo car..you know how its feel. When i explained the things to my wife and my kids, my son asked me..'macam game need for speed ker? ada nos dan bule keluar api kat ekzos....' shocking.gif  I just smile oni  laugh.gif . The total journey took me 150km with average fuel consumption 9.1litres/100km on the first day with my preve.

So 3 days olds, so far no 'tak tak tak' sound in cold engine start, no 'gluk gluk gluk' or 'helicopter' orchestra while driving...only whistling or whooing sound at left side front passenger, i think the cvt thingy. This is my review and love it.

If Proton Marketing Dept sees this, then they will start banging to spread the fever and get more sales. Afterall, the repair cost is still worth the sales of a preve.

For those not driving preve, better book one now. tongue.gif

i recently test drive a car with toy feel steering blink.gif
the paddle shit i never use until now...always forget got that...maybe too many thinking other stuff when driving,i should more explore my car for fun driving
*
There are 2 situations where I love to play with the paddle shifters in town driving. First you have to place both hands on the steering wheel and fingers resting on both paddle shifters, always ready to trigger. Do not use the paddle shifters if you are approaching a bend where you need to cross both arms.

First scenario is for slowing down the car speed.
When you are approaching a cross junction traffic lights and you are taking the left turn that does not need to wait for traffic lights and the bend is less than 70 degrees, you just left tap three or four times to bring the gear to 3rd and use the engine pull to slow down the car while both hands on the steering wheel guide the car exit the bend then step on the gas and right tap every 1-2 seconds to zoom away. The objective is to use paddle shifters to slow the car speed to 40kmh or less for beginners to get a good feel of the engine braking effectiveness and make use of that experience for further exploration.

The second scenario is for overtaking.
If it is a double lane and you are on the left lane tailing a car at 60kmh. You would normally swerve to right lane and apply more pressure on the gas pedal. If you want to pull away from him for300 metres, you would usually step hard on the gas pedal by flooring it suddenly. But with paddle shifters, you just swerve right, apply more pressure on the gas, then left tap 2 to 3 times to put your rpm into 2500rpm region and shoot straight, every 1.5 seconds right tap. Do not lift up the gas pedal. Maintain same position where you are flooring the pedal at around 90% down. Otherwise the car won't launch forward. Don't have to see the rpm or gear selection. Just concentrate on road ahead. You will notice your speed is 100kmh when you decide to slow down. Don't do this in residential area.

I am not a racer. First time play paddle shifters. I find it a thrill at the moment but I am sure the novelty will fade off as time goes by. But for now let's have fun and enjoy the good pick up of the Preve.

Good morning fellas wub.gif

Double wub for Dares wub.gif wub.gif

Sigh, have to wake up so early to send my preve for 1st Service. Luckily I have prepared my 5 pages of issues in advance using pictures as well. Yesterday, I unexpectedly received a phone call by PE SC requesting me to come for service but I have only done 735km. hmm.gif

Anyway, I won't mind getting my issues fixed earlier as the engine sounded very rough already andFC is still damn high. Hope they can fix all rattling noises.

Just came back from SC after spending one hour relating my problems and test drive for them. They were very patient to give me all the time I want. They try to get everything fixed by Friday so I am going to miss my preve for 2 nights.

Yup, I promised to give them a review if they take good care of my baby. I will publish my 5 pages as Part 1 when I get back to office.

I also told them I have given a good review of the car too. If you don't mind, can you please put my review link at the first page if it deserves a spot. Thanks.

Not same league lah. But definitely it's always better to listen to the real owners of Preve than the person who just took it for a test drive.

Anyway, thanks for putting it up and I hope our Previan Members grow fast and big so that there will be lots of cool accessories to upgrade and also getting spare parts at cheaper prices. thumbup.gif

Nothing personal, but merely a clarification.

I do not agree with your above statement.

But it is a place to get review from all Preve owners who is willing to share their experiences with their new car and highlight their car issues and rectification solutions.

It is a place to compare what problems you have, and other's don't - vice versa.

It is a place for you to warn others if you feel something is not right, eg. sluggishness at start.

It is a place for you to share your dramatic experiences so that other's will get a hindsight on what to expect and what the car can and cannot do.

It's a place for you to review the condition of your new car received, to inform others what to look out for to make sure they are getting their car in good condition before signing.

If we have more members who is willing to sacrifice so much time to give a lengthy and more detailed review, then we get to learn so much more and understanding our car more.

If everyone thinks like you and do not want to spend more than 5 minutes reviewing your car, then you are not sincerely sharing, which means you are not caring.

If you just want to enjoy a Gathering of Owners, then just go TT drink Pepsi. No need to flood the server with this topic. Open another TT thread. Just introduce each other as in Facebook and talk about who wins the EuroCup.

But I do agree that LYN is not a place to get Test Drive Car Review. Neither will I trust the review.

Don't butthurt like me ok? I am just objecting your statement constructively.
Have a pepsi cheers.gif

Yup, my FC sucks and I have notified SC, hope they have the knowledge to rectify it. KiaPreve got the APS fixed by COSE.

Cheers man, maybe I should elaborate why I didn't think here is a good place, I prefer a close group instead. Discuss anything bad here, automatically become bullets for troll, one unit got issue, suddenly become all preve also got this issue. Hence it's bad to discuss technical issues here.

I will share just not here, join FB page and discuss better.

Autoworld or Motortrader seems better but it's slow.
*
Yes Sir.

Sorry guyz, I can't publish my 6 pages given to SC to rectify for my 1k service. And I can't share with you the outcome of it because Junn wants all of you to log in Facebook to get the confidential stuff. Make sure the members in FAcebook do not publish the info here. At least there is less chances of getting bashed. But if I don't write the article at all, then there is no chance of getting bash. Better still.

I will be a silent reader for now.

Thanks all and a final wub.gif to all my new found friends.

Plus by shutting up we will in fact become like those T & H worshipper who got a car with problems but too ego to speak about it. COme on, no harm about it. I'm sure basher are always looking for bullet to say anything at all to us and they'll always be lurking around but to hell with them, remember our very first motto: Sharing is Caring right..
