Let's say I go to a clinic that is not on the panel of my company.

I know the company will not pay for the medical fees if the clinic is not on its panel. No problem, I can accept that.

But can any company in Malaysia reject a MC (medical cert) from a non-panel clinic for any reason (for exp if it's written in the employment contract that the company only recognises panel clinics)? Or are they bound by labour law to accept?

Please give feedback.

(Why I prefer non-panel clinic? The panel clinics are too far from my home, they are frequented by doubious foreigners, nurses are rude and there's this incident where the "doc" made a wrong diagnosis on what ails me)

Actually, better refer to HR. Rejection of non-panel clinics is up to management discretion.

Employers can't refuse MC from non-panel clinic. You can give the reason, panel clinic is too far and you have to go to nearby clinic. You also can say, the doctor is your preferred doctor who knows well about your health condition (if you ongoing some medical problem before or after join this company)

If they refuse, you can go to labor court and you will be at the winning side.
