Cable television operator Astro All Asia Networks PLC is planning to raise around US$1.5 billion in an IPO in Malaysia. The company is looking to list in the fourth quarter of this year.
Astro has a virtual monopoly on pay-to-watch TV services in Malaysia and operates eight terrestrial radio stations. The company was de-listed from the Malaysian stock exchange following a 2010 buyout by Mr. Krishnan and the investment holding arm of the Malaysian government’s Khazanah Nasional Bhd.

This company sure very hot when the IPO opens. The dividend if not mistaken maybe around min 75% of profit, because the listing only involved malaysian operations same like maxis berhad. First list, then delist, after than few years relist only the malaysian operation. Not many people do what AK did for the company

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 8 — Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd, a pay-TV firm owned by the country’s second-richest man Ananda Krishnan, said today it had earmarked 58 per cent of the proceeds raised in its forthcoming listing for capital expenditure.
The flotation, which is expected to raise up to US$1.5 billion (RM4.5 billion), will be Malaysia’s third-largest this year after Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd in June and IHH Healthcare Bhd in July.
Astro didn’t disclose how much it expected to raise in total.
Beyond the 58 per cent allocated to capital expenditure it said 29.3 per cent would be used to repay bank borrowings, 8.6 per cent for working capital and the rest for listing expenses, a draft prospectus filed today showed.
Astro, with a residential pay-TV subscriber base of three million in Malaysia, made a pro forma net profit of RM629.62 million for the fiscal year ended January 31, 2012, a 23.9 per cent drop from a year earlier, the prospectus showed. Revenue rose 6.1 per cent.
It said it had hired CIMB as the transaction manager for the listing. Joint principal advisers are CIMB, Maybank and RHB. — Reuters

QUOTE(hyzam1212 @ Sep 21 2012, 06:11 PM) What does that exactly mean? I don't know what it mean. What I know they going to pay 75% of profit as dividend. That's the main thing.

Not everyone would like to apply using blue form because only can apply 3000 shares only & got balloting process like normal application. Some investor might even apply using blue form (3k shares) & also eipo/atm. For them it's double chance and also using spouse/ child name to apply. So blue form or normal application, the change of getting is still slim

QUOTE(mariochuah @ Sep 30 2012, 11:11 AM) actually, do u guys realized that this ASTRO listing is because of political factor more then collecting capital or restructuring debt !! beside, this astro dont really have good records for the past as they didnt pay any dividend. according to research, the fair value is about 10 to 20sen only and the price for IPO will be revised as well ( the subscription from retails not much). I do believe those experienced investors wont look for it.. Added on September 30, 2012, 11:14 amthis time. for sure u will get as it is not sharian counter, Malay dont really like it.. beside, no over subscript from retails as well.. Then I'm sure of getting it, 100% allocated very2 luck to those applied
