Wanna ask you guys. My friend want to buy either the d3100 or d5100. Quoted price for d5100 + kit lens + memory card + bag is rm 2030. D3100 + kit lens + memory card + bag is rm 1650. Are those price alright?

Thanks~

I kind of prefer the top one as well, for the same reason, but the bottom one, in overall, gives more, erm... the mood? And the lights looks nicer as well (also from someone else comment the reason why she prefer the bottom one). As for the top one, the details more clear (e.g. the word "Beyond First Class").

How to decide which is better when both also you like?  hmm.gif
Need to learn more PP skills...
*
it's not like one is better than the other actually.. it's which feel you want to portray.. the top one would make the front car more stand out.. so it helps on the composition wise.. it made the front car the main subject..

meanwhile, the bottom one have a general good overall.. maybe because it was too good at overall, that i don't know where to focus my eyes on.. especially when i look at the white car (which is suppose to be the main subject if i follow the composition rule) i will feel i wanna look at the back also.. cuz back also quite interesting..

the top picture just makes me want to look at the white car

I see, this only happen on specific camera body or the lens itself has this problem, no matter which body we put it in?
*
from what i read from the link, i think the problem lies in the lens itself.. you should be able to reproduce this using different body

Hey guys need ur advice on which lens to choose..
1. Nikon 35mm f1.8G
2. Nikon 50mm f1.8G
3. Tamron 17-50 f2.8 non vc

i'm seeking a cheap lens that can be used in events and also gr8 for taking portrait photos..
Also, i would like to have nice bokeh..
fyi, my camera body is D5100..

So which one is more suitable?
*
i'd vote for #3 then add another external flash to it.. haha~

QUOTE(amduser @ Jun 29 2012, 03:21 AM)
there is no focus distance on my lens

i dont always shoot street, only when i go out with my camera

i normally shoot half body for landscape and full body for portrait on my 35mm, framing isn't a big deal for me since i get used to the focal length already

prefocus with hands 1st? then let AF fine tune?

the G version should be sharper.. you shud try exposure delay and also try aligning your focus chart to be in same focal plane as your sensor instead of shooting from an angle.. it should be 45 degrees downwards towards it. but the camera should be "facing" directly to it. not sure if i explained correctly @_@

edit: i misunderstood.. the nikon maximum reproduction ratio is slightly better.. 0.28x(nikon) vs 0.25x(sigma).. see if it's possible to ask the shop to change for 55-300?
