For Dave Hill kinda effect, that only can be done through PP. I think I've bumped into some presets on deviantart before, you might wanna have a look there. I found this quite informative:

thanks bro but tried that before. problem with most tutorials out there is when they require you to do unmask sharpen, it kills the quality of the picture. by the way, nice pic biggrin.gif
