QUOTE(davidyet @ Jun 12 2012, 07:08 PM) I'm using Nikon D5100 , were try to add on some accessories. Does the extra battery pack useful? I'm not really a heavy user. But it looks seriously huge and gorgeous to have a bigger camera. LOL. u mean battery grip? handy if u have heavy lens so add battery grip to balance out the body

hi D800/D800E users... i have a question can i install a FX lens on the D800 then manually set the camera to DX mode so i get the FOV of a crop sensor (105mm -> 157.5mm)? the DX mode will produce 15mp pictures rite?

QUOTE(f5calvin @ Jul 7 2012, 07:45 PM) If if produces lower MP photos, isn't it the same if u shoot at full MP then crop it? QUOTE(celciuz @ Jul 7 2012, 07:47 PM) Differences is that, the D800/D800E does 6fps in DX mode with a grip while in FX not capable. ya... i wuz thinking about getting 6fps in DX mode wif battery grip

QUOTE(patienceGNR @ Jul 9 2012, 08:40 PM) Hey guys, Imma be traveling to U.K [and probably going to Scotland, North Ireland, Leeds, etc] soon, I wanna know if these lenses are 'wise' to be brought along. Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 [landscape, cityscape] Nikon 24mm AFD f/2.8 [streets] Nikon 50mm f/1.8 [multi purpose] No zoom lens as I have no idea what a zoom lens will do during travel. Edit : Or should I sub 24/50mm with a Tamron 17-50? 17-50 for me... 11-16 heavy yo if u r doing alot of walking

QUOTE(patienceGNR @ Jul 9 2012, 10:43 PM) I've 'consulted' the TS of this thread. He said Tamron 17-50 non-VC instead of the 24mm and the 11-16. 116 is heavy eh? I haven't bought or held one before so I'm not sure yet... but going places like UK, definitely a lot of walking one.. I guess I'll stick to 1750 and 116 lah. and bring the 50mm I have now since it's small and light. among DX lenses it is heavy la.. ~550g plus it is very wide so u can expect to swap ur lens often wif ur 24mm or 50mm... (must have understanding travelmates )

QUOTE(f5calvin @ Jul 14 2012, 10:19 AM) 35mm and 85mm f/1.8g.. street use 35mm and 85mm.. portrait use 85mm.. btw, 40mm not much bokeh..that's y 35mm is nice..bt 35mm bokeh is a little harsh..bt acceptable for me.. 85mm in crop sensor IMO abit tight for street shooting unless stalker mode ON

QUOTE(jyu_bonk @ Jul 16 2012, 04:58 PM) Hi sifus, i just want your opinion? What's the best ND Grad filter available around the market? I prefer ND Grad that can be adjustable (like CPL filter). Any brand that tip top for ND Grad filter? I found Hoya n B+W not so much choices around. LEE Filters... the crème de la crème... if u fell off ur chair.. then consider Cokin la Added on July 16, 2012, 8:57 pmQUOTE(shenshenshen @ Jul 16 2012, 05:43 PM) hi just got my uncle's, 2nd hand D90 as beginner. anyone mind to share photography beginner's blog for me to learn up photography? go download this http://www.nikonclub.com.my/pages/Insight.aspx?id=106 This post has been edited by seather: Jul 16 2012, 08:57 PM
