a question, how do i set hyperfocal distance for my 55-300 and my 35mm?

both lens dont come with the focus meter and marking, i have to mark it myself but dont know how

do anyone use 24-70 f/2.8 here in DX?
many people giving good review for this lens, of course price is nice as well...
after using kitlens for some time, i am planning to upgrade. the first idea is tamron 17-50, but there are people commenting its focus not that good in low light...but i have seen this lens is not too bad in term of sharpness, is acceptable for me.

but, it seems 24-70 covers bigger range and i try out the difference of 17 and 24, it just 1 step of me...and i think 24-70 can consider a multipurpose lens due to it range, portrait should able to handle as well...how do u all think?

most reviews are commenting if budget allows, choose the nikon that pair up with the body fits the best...is this worth for a big throw? any other things that i need to be concern?

With 55-300mm, definitely, the lens is so light and it'll shake so badly. Go Nikon Center at BTS and try the 80-200mm f/2.8 or 70-200mm f/2.8, the heavy lens will give way better balance and way less shake; I have shaky hands, but with the 80-200mm, I can handheld at 1/30s @ 200mm, albeit not all shots are spot on. Changed to 55-300 @ 200mm, gosh, it's super shaky.

You take camera phone, compact camera and DSLR also got difference lo =P
