I personally love this kinda pictures, I even got one of the panorama bracket that ensures no paralax error when composing my shots, but I didn't use that one in this picture.
It's didn't take me very long to combine the shots in PTGUI actually. About less than 10 minutes I remember. The resultant file is almost about 430 MBytes in PSD format, or about 180 MBytes in TIFF format, and the final size of the picture is 8834 x 3596 pixels, or about 31.8 megapixels.

Anyway to be honest this is not the biggest panorama shot I have ever done. Once I did a 360 degrees pano shot in Nepal, it took me 5 hours to process, and the resultant tiff file is a whooping 1 GBytes in size!!

I guess I had a great computer, quad core 2.4 GHz, 8 GB RAM.
