Lol, with this bro ZeneticX should post a dummy guide on updating software and flashing OTA as well. Just a thought though. smile.gif
*
don't think you need guide for this

its just a very simple method. go settings > about phone > software update

I think updating is just go "about the phone and select software update"?

If you're rooted then you'll lose your root. Go buy SuperSU Pro now :-)

Lol. Wrong. What I mean is in the FAQ.

Such as "Will an update affect my rooted device?" <- this sort of question lol.

If on stock rom kernel can receive OTA.
Buy SuperSU Pro..it will survive OTA.
Alternately use easy way..download the updates from Sammobile and flash it using MobileOdin Pro. Fast, easy and root intact  :-)

SuperSU Pro adds the following features to your SuperSU installation:
- OTA survival mode (no guarantees)
- Full color-coded command content logging (input/output/error)
- Per-app logging configuration
- Per-app user override
- PIN protection

Hi. Just bought myself the marble white S3 from bluecube. Sadly they didn't have the pebble blue or would have bought another one for the missus tongue.gif Quite a big jump from me, initially was using N95 so I have a lot of learning to do on the andriod system.

Anyway, where can I buy a good SP? Is the SGP Flex HD/ Oleophobic good? Less fingerprint marks? Where can I buy it in low yat plaza?
Anyone knows where to buy the pebble blue S3? Need to get the missus one or else...

One of the benefit on rooted phone is
- can get faster updates as SME usually slow on releasing its updates.
* flash manually the UK updates using MobileOdin and you phone now is on latest updates with root intact. When M'sia updates arrive then reflash manually with M'sia updates.
In other words - your phone always on latest firmware :-))

Anyway of lowering the power consumption of this phone ? I'm very very new to android and still getting the hang out of it. I still find iOS easier to use when it comes to configuration.

once you get the hang of android, you will feel ios is a total bullshit when it comes to "simplicity / easy to use"

anyway to answer your question. refer the front page under tips and tricks

Free version wont survive OTA. Even the Pro one is not 100% guarantee intact. The best and safest way is manually flash the updates.
