It's actually double tap the top part of your phone.

If on stock rom kernel can receive OTA.

Buy SuperSU Pro..it will survive OTA.
Alternately use easy way..download the updates from Sammobile and flash it using MobileOdin Pro. Fast, easy and root intact :-)

Lol, with this bro ZeneticX should post a dummy guide on updating software and flashing OTA as well. Just a thought though.
