New GNex user reporting in. Got a SME set on promo price.

So, what's first to do? From OP, I think its:

1. yakjuxw --> yakju
2. baseband --> XXKK6
3. unlock bootloader ---> must ?

1. That's if you wanna stick to stock rom, but I recommend AOKP
2. Any baseband for your liking, mine on KRLB1
3. I guess this is a must if you wanna flash your phone, and use CWM
Could use ADB to pull files and folders =p or using wifi transfer, anyone else wants to chip in on this?

Anyway to backup original firmware this phone comes with? Does Toolkit have this function? I will use that to do the flashing stuff.

Linaro BASED CyanogenMOD 9 ROM here, http://code.google.com/p/team-keyblade/dow...ro.zip&can=2&q=

This version doesn't have bugs like those other versions did.
This means it's GPS is working fine as well as those Wifi, Bluetooth, etc.

Ah can't wait for feedbacks on this!

Yes, 1.3K for a current Nexus line. That's the best value. Even if it ships with just DOS.

Since I just got my Gnex not long ago, I want to ask this.

Does the area around the microusb and headset port scratch off after some time due wrong aim when plugging in/out of the cables?

Currently I am paranoid, cut some clear sticker and stuck on them.

you use it naked? casing or film sticker protection might help.
*
Naked while waiting for a casing to be delivered.

I guess you don't know because you are with a casing since Day 1.

Why my Nexus can't NFC with blackberry 9900 and Galaxy S3...
*
Mine works (gnex and s3). However its Android Beam only as ICS intended I.e. transfer of web links, map location, YouTube link etc.

S3's S Beam doesn't work with Gnex as it is proprietary. Means Samsung made their own app to utilize Wi-Fi direct. So it means you can't transfer huge files between these 2.

Waze for turn by turn of course.

Recently got the Xenon HD rom.. battery seems better than previous SlimICS install. However some stuttering is noticeable when I have a lot of apps running compared to Slim. Lack of customization is apparent as well.
