17 inch ride is still smooth on well tarmac or pavement.. and 50% of chances the ride can be lil bit too firm..
but not annoying at all..

ppl who prefer to have softer feel while going on our typical road minor imperfection then 215/55/R16 with a set of Michelin Premacy LC is best..  laugh.gif
*
I can vouch that Premacy LC really makes a difference on ride comfort and overall NVH. Installed these 215/45/17 donuts on my 2010 1.6SX, and the previous harshness felt on the stock Kumho Solus has gone away. I bet installing Premacy LC on a thicker setting will make an even more comfortable ride.

But i's pretty difficult to get these tyres nowadays, I don't know why. The shop I went to will keep pushing for the Michelin PS3, which is more for performance rather than comfort.

its soft rubbers right for that kind of quietness.. how fast is the wear? as like how far in KM can it goes?
*
I just installed it last month, so can't really say how long it will last. The stock Kumho lasted me 60,000km, hopefully this one can last that long as well smile.gif .

bro, do u know how much roughly premacy lc cost for 215/45/17? thinking to change my donut to nexen 8000 or continental mc5..if 215/50/17 can/nice?
*
I bought it in Alor Setar for RM550 per piece, complete with installation, alignment and balancing. But I heard you can get cheaper in Klang, but I don't know which shop. Perhaps other bros here knows which shop can give cheaper?

QUOTE(absolut @ Jul 2 2012, 09:25 AM)
Hi all

My left headlight has failed me, and I'm thinking of DIY replacing it myself. However, I note that there is very limited space to remove and replace the low beam bulb as the battery block is in the way.

It seems removal of the headlights is mandatory due to the very limited space for you to remove the lamp covers.

Anyone has replaced the left headlights without disconnecting and removing the whole set of headlight?
*
It's a tight squeeze, but it's still doable without taking out the whole headlamp assembly. Just DIY changed my headlights to Osram night breaker successfully a couple weeks back. Just unscrew the dust protector, slide the fitting pin out, and you can take out the old bulb. Put the new bulb in, engage the pin back, and screw the dust cover back. It should just take a couple of minutes for each bulb. No screwdrivers, just hands smile.gif .

Yaa..i did change the left bulb also about 2 month ago & the right bulb on last weekend..use exactly the same method as u said. It's a tight squeeze for sure but it can be done. However, i just change to normal & cheapo H7 bulb  tongue.gif  I wonder if there's a significant advantage of using the other expensive bulb (Osram Night Breaker for instance) that will justify its price. Could u give your review on the bulb bro? Thinking of changing to the Osram bulb too later on...
*
Honestly? I can't see the difference between the light emitted through the stock H7 bulb and with the Osram night breaker (perhaps I'm just not sensitive enough). But when I installed the Osram on just 1 headlight, and then turn the headlights on, I can see that the light emitted through the Osram is whiter than the stock one (which is a bit yellow-ish). Hope that helps tongue.gif .

Stock one, I'm not sure. But the osram is 100 per pair.

bro you one liner can't justify why i wanna get 2.0 wink.gif..am not racer too...
*
Since you're not a racer, get the 1.6, saves fuel and has almost all the gadgets the 2.0 has. Leather can install afterwards. And I much prefer the feel of hydraulic steering compared to a motor-assisted, just my personal preference.

anyone where can i get reasonably priced spare parts for forte

the price quoted by the sc is ridiculously high

rm500 for one side absober  vmad.gif  vmad.gif  vmad.gif  vmad.gif

I always buy my parts in Express Mobis, 03-6252 0700. The shop is in Segambut. I buy from them, and install at my friend's workshop. You can bring to the Service Center too if you want, but they will charge if I'm not mistakened. Try giving them a call and ask for the price.

my Forte has "nget nget nget" sound infront when going over speed humps... sent it to SC and they dunno what's wrong

anyone experience this?
*
The sound might be coming from the foam that holds all your jack equipments in your trunk. It rubs with the rim of the spare tyre and cause the squeak, squeak sound when running over speed bumps, at least that is what happened in my case. What I do is I put some foam sheets (that you get when buying a new monitor. The sheet that wraps the monitor, not the styrofoam) between the foam and the rim, and the sound is gone. This is to soak up the friction.
