i had problems with my HU since the first day i bought the car. cant play the files stated nicely. only way i got them to actually play was by re encoding the movie files. without doing so, mp4 wont play i will get a blank screen. WMV and AVI files will have skipped frames ( video lagging but audio ok). Tried all different pendrives still the same thing.
got fed up and just looking out for a better HU. Unless there is something that can be done. SC will tell me everything is ok and got no problem but i think i know better.

can anyone here help share info on where to get the latest firmware for the new HU in the forte?? I really want to give it a try b4 changing the player. thanks

the car is 2 years old already. i doubt that it is still under warranty as the earlier batch of cars only came with 2 years warranty. later on only they were given the option to extend their warranty periods to 5 but there is a certain payment that the owners need to make for the extended warranty. this is what i heard from a friend of mine who was few of those owned the first batch of forte.

I called the naza helpline and made a big fuzz about this matter. what is the point of having a all in 1 player and not being able to play videos? if i have to encode the file to smaller size or change the resolution might as well dont give me that player and give me back the RM2500 rebate that i was offered. I do not need such a useless player if wanna play videos is so hard. Mp3 some files can detect some cannot detect, radio reception also poor. the only thing that is good is the gps lock signal within 10 seconds.

So after the big hoo haa i made several times, now they agreed to change a new HU for me. I dont know if its the same model but 1 thing i know for sure it will be updated with the latest firmware. So my advice to fellow forte owners here, please dont hesistate to call up the helpline and bang them. The car was not given to u free, we paid for it and we expect the best for what we have paid.

Now i got 1 problem solved next is the rattling dashboard and bloody aircond problem left to rectify.

honestly i do not know if everybody has the same problems, but for me the aircond problem is just very weird, passanger side is blowing cold air and the driver side is just normal cool air. but it happens once u set at certain temp only. Seeing most of the owners here set their aircond to 23-24 and blower speed at 2 or 3, doing that for me wont work...i am feeling warm on my side but the passenger side is cool. so after many times of sending back the car to the SC, filling up the gas and all that crap. still the same. no concrete solution for my aircond till now, but i have already came up with my own conclusion which is the heater that is causing trouble. but still hey to look on the bright side i got dual zone air conditioning which i dint pay for.. as for the dashboard rattling sound, its just a matter of locating the right spot and fixing it thats all. from what i observe this is actually a problem other car owners are actually being very quiet about. it happens in nissan,honda even toyota. needless to say it is a common problem with the locally assembled car and the materials
