today, took day off to service my forte so went to SC in bangi for my 1st 1K service cost me RM230.77...they did a good job and just took less than an hour...

after that, went to agard tint in puchong to redeem my voucher

took package 53% TSER, 75% IRR, 99% UVR = Rm1500 - RM550 = RM950 (for whole windows/windscreen) with 5yrs warranty
nicely done by them

soo happy got all things done....

just wondering, install HID kits will avoid warranty? worried for any electrical or engine modification will avoid warranty...please advice
*
HID? I think definitely will void the warranty and polis will kacau also..

Brand new car right? My FC was real bad when I first got my car. About 11L - 12L/100KM. But after first service, the FC dropped to 8.5L - 10L/100KM to my surprise. Try waiting for first service before jumping off your seat smile.gif
*
yeah, my 1.6sx is giving me 0.16cents per KM which i think it is pretty good compare with my myvi at 0.12cents but no fun to drive myvi at all.. lolx

By the way, I told the SA to transfer my 55% NCD from my old car to new forte but when I collected the car, the insurance policy that I got is stated 0% NCD. Although SA already upfront deduct the 55% NCD money for me but I wonder how can I renew my policy for the next upcoming year with 55% NCD? Will the SA forget to do the transfer for me and I have to paid the insured amount with 0% NCD?

thx

To all 1.6sx users,
do you notice that when u full turn your steering; either left or right, there is an ZZZZZZZ sound; seems the pump can't suck the power steering oil, is this normal? I dont have such sound on my previous myvi which is equipped with hydraulic power steering as well.

Hey, guys one of my forte 17 inches rims was bent (become not perfectly round). So is it possible for me to buy one rim from kia service center and replace it ? Are there selling 1 rim or still need to replace 4 at one time?
*
u can repair it at tyre shop, should be not expensive. until all the tyres are worn dy then change to 16" rim + tyre biggrin.gif

hi..i think this is normal..i just got my car yesterday and when u came out of parking, i experienced that sound as well..ive drove a few cars with power steering before and also experienced the same thing when the steering is turned all the way to the end..try not to turn until the max..then u wont experience this...
*
Thanks buddy for the confirmation. In the user manual, it says dont make a full turn for more than 5 seconds so I think occasionally is still alright. thx

erm... if got chance, I'll try it. open the car with key and see whether the alarm will be off when I start the car. if can then should not be a problem.

yaya,
some ppl ask me why not get altis coz better FC then I told them 112K - 86K = I save 26K if get forte 1.6SX.

let's say Altis FC is 0.13cents and forte FC is 0.17cents = save 0.04 cents per km

every month I travel around 3000KM which equal to RM120 saving (or RM1440 yearly) if i choose altis

but for the 26K saving, I can use that money to pay the extra FC for another 18 years...

sound better right if we think like this... lolx (my humble opinion only)

Common issue.. most new car have this problem.
No exception for my car as well.

Added on July 12, 2012, 8:22 pm

If don't install the wire will be abit risky .. imagine if you forget to unlock and drive straight away.. ohmy.gif
*
last time i also got such concern but it can be eliminated.

1. either ask the foreman install in such way that no room for the brake pedal to press so the car will not be started without unlocking it.

2. or like mine 1 where above step cant stop the brake pedal 100% then I went to JJ buy a hard rubber (those put underneath the table/chair legs to stop noise or avoid scratched) to place on the locktech surface that contact with the brake pedal so that the gap can be filled.

I solved this issue with less than RM10 (DIY), now my car cannot be started without unlocking the locktech, some more no worry about the warranty issue since wiring is not connected.

Hi thinking of getting forte 1.6sx soon. Mind if I ask the FC? Is it really 0.17/km? I only see the good side if this car is there any bad side of this car?sorry if someone ask this question before...
*
if you want to know the negative comments or issues then you can go to myforteclub forum under a section which is called technical issues if not mistaken. there got many issues that ppl posted up.

anyway no need to worry much as forte so far only got minor issues

- like alignment (can be fixed),
- rattling noise (so far mine 1 is still good at this moment),
- bumpy for the rear seat (none of my passengers got complaints),
- 1.6sx underpower (this is very subjective coz whenever there is a more powerful version then ppl will tend to say the lower version is underpower; anyway I'm fine with it and paddle shirt is available for downshift the gear to overtake other car)
- high FC (mine 1 is 50% highway and city; so far getting 0.16cents per KM (ODO 5K now), hope to get better FC after 20K service)
- long spare part lead time (no comment yet)
- bad services (for the 1K service, I'm quite satisfied with the SC work; quite details)

if any of your friends of forte then beg them let u drive 1 week or a long trip to penang or johor then you can feel it more completely
