anyone experience the VSA activated before? This morning when I on the way came to work, there was a puddle of water on the road and I didn't take note on it and continue with the same speed; maybe 80km/h.

when I drove across the puddle, the car suddenly like braking itself and slow down for a second. Is this considered VSA activated? I didn't notice whether the VSA light got on or not.

This is new experience for me as last time I felt differently on my myvi where one side of my car will be floating in the air if I drive across such puddle.

ABS lighter and fit perfectly but crack easier if u kena bumps
*
get PP (made in taiwan) as it is much expensive than ABS and PU if i'm not wrong.

ABS can be cracked easier coz the material is so hard and thin. PU's design looks nicer for the side skirting if you have compared it with PP before, some more PU b/kit got FORTE badge on it; pretty cool. however i still got the PP b/kit biggrin.gif

Forte 2.0 worth the value dude

yes forte 2.0 is very worth to get it, previously I was also looking forte 2.0 but got the 1.6sx instead as I am very resistance to take the leather seat.

Again, I was like you. I waited for a whole damn year for Elantra. And got most disappointed.
Price, spec, features,..... all stripped down version of the actual Elantra.

Eventhough the car is on sale now, just look at the number of Elantras on the road. So little.
And trust me, the look will fade away after 6 months. People will still turn heads when a white body kit Forte passes by. I know for sure because i am driving one and i have no regrets.

Peter Schreyer is the man!!
*
i like elantra too but when i sit at rear seat, i feel quite pressure due to the low ceiling and I really dont like their rear panel of the front seats; so plastic like taxi.

Yes, mine still auto switch to outside air when i turn off AC.
Try pressing it manually first and see if it does automatically the next time you turn off AC and car.
*
hi guys,
i am quite confuse as after i set it to auto + choose the inside air circulation (auto wording will be disappear), but the air cond is still run automatically where the fan will blow harder is the internal temperature is much higher.

is this still considered fully automatic or what does the auto meaning here?

did anyone notice that when u completely turn off your aircond the air intake mode will change to outside air although u set it to cabin circulation.
*
i only set it once to inside circulation and every time when I turn on the aircond, it will stick with the inside circulation.

Could i find out how much it costs to downgrade from from 17' to 16' ones? I know it probably varies by dealer, so how much was your downgrade?

Funny, would have thought it would cost less.

Also, is it really THAT uncomfortable to have the 17' wheels? Ie, will your buntut really sakit after being in the car for too long?
*
yeah, I want to know as well. How much for the trade in and how much to get the 16" rim + the 16" tyres. previously I did think to downgrade it automatically when I got the 1.6sx but after driving for some time, i changed my mind as 17" is not that bad as what I had imagined before; FC & comfortable are still acceptable smile.gif except the tyre is a bit noisy

I really like the koup, gives you a feeling like you are driving a Beemer or something like that at a much lower price.

But kenot la, family man, have to go for four door 2.0 cry.gif

Added on June 21, 2012, 3:37 pm

Ok, my question is - does 17 inch on the forte make it really the car really uncomfortable?
I can understand if you want to make the car more comfortable by swapping to 16', but is 17' really so bad?
*
dont worry so much, get the car and test for a week. if not comfortable then baru downgrade it to 16" la..
last time i read so many topic about forte and so many things to worry like FC, comfortable, engine knocking noise, rattling noise, windscreen cracking and etc. made me so dilemma but after i got the car, I just love it. worrying is normal but don't worry too much biggrin.gif

i asked same question before, and since the fan control still auto adjust according to cabin temp, we can consider this is automatic aircon.
maybe there are reason kia refuse to recognize internal circulation as automatic aircon we dont know about.
*
thanks for your feedback. I do have the answer why outside air is preferred coz I rajin read the user manual. The manual says if we continue to breath in the inside air circulation for long period, the chances for us to fall asleep is higher and easier especially for long journey driving maybe due to lack of oxygen.

its not really a big deal as i treat it as 'forgot' to do what it suppose to do. after all the buttons are near to us that we can at anytime choose either one.

also i think it remembers the last setting eg, off aircond + internal, so next time it will do this when u turn off aircon.
*
yalo, all the buttons are so near to us.
but isn't it design in this way with memory setting? i don't think it is faulty.

as far as I experience, Michelin rubbers can last up to 70k-80k km depends on your daily route
conditions..

my waja used Michelin MXV8 lasted me 65k km since new until i sell it off.. it has 40% thread left..
my prev vios used Premacy LC went 57k km.. all tires got 45% thread left according to my trusted tire shop mechanics..
as for now my forte.. still using stock Artlantis V7  cry.gif
still not enough cash to change to new a new set tires for 17 inch rims..  blush.gif
hopefully next month I can do so..  flex.gif

I will still go for another Michelin.. feels really safe when your car's BA kicks in when car in front of you suddenly stops with no slip & screeching sound.. and it inspires big car-like comfort and solidity ride..  thumbup.gif
*
the 60K KM is for 4 tyres or just the front one? coz normally the front tyre will be worn out 1st right.

how can I measure the remaining thread like urs 45%? just experience or accurate way to measure it?

serdang jaya 1 is quite professional and details. i think they didnt wrap the seat but they do put a paper on the carpet. anyway i think it is better to wrap the car seat smile.gif

btw, does SC allow us bring our own aircond filter, engine filter or even spark plug? I know engine oil is not allowed but how about these components?

AFAIK, use the softer tire (rubber) with Treadwear figure less than 340 might helps with the noise (might depends on the tread design also). Last time, the stock Kumho tires got Treadwear figure of 400 which indicate that it is a hard compound tire & ya..that set of tires is quite noisy. Anyway, u can usually find the treadwear figure been 'printed' on the tire sidewall.

My current set of Continental ContiMAX Contact MC5 tires with treadwear figure of 340 is much quieter than the stock tires. But bear in mind that softer compound tires might worn faster than the hard compound tires
*
dude, i just checked the original silverstone alantis v7 treadwear is 270 only. isn't it to be quiet?

Guys,

I just want to share with you about my car robbery (KIA Forte 1.6 Sedan-White) last week.

I was at Kuchai Lama, just off Old Klang Road near the new foodcourt opposite the FGA church at 830pm. When I opened my car door, 2 yound indian guys shouted at me then rushed at me with a parang each. They took my phone wallet etc and keep demanding my car keys (the key docket was in a small bag) that they already took.

After a minute or 2, with 1 of them keep threatening me for my car key, the other ransacked the car and managed to start the car and then they both drove away. I believe they targeted me for my car as they keep insisting for the car keys. All this happened with 2 chinese uncle (employees who were working in abrightly lit canopy making shop)witnessing the whole incident but pretend not to see or help.

So please be careful, KIA Forte now also kena targeted already. I was shocked when they keep insisting for the car keys. I am a guy and I am bigger and taller than the 2 of them (they were both thin medium height young indians). Can't imagine if a girl was targeted.
*
dude, really sad to hear your case. hope the police will release/close your case soon then you can claim for insurance. what is sum insured of your forte? 70%?

hey guys,
what are the best speed for good FC? 90km/h, 110km/h?

so far my 1.6sx gives me 1.75 cents per KM (based on fuel/mileage, not taking from the L/100KM); now the ODO is 3000KM.

hi guys,
did you guy register the speednavi by yourself? I think most of our speednavi are registered by the SA but i think if the hardware is under our name after registration then we can download the map and update by ourselves rather than speed few hours go to SC and beg them to update for us.

I asked my SA to transfer the hardware ownership to me but until now still no news.. zzZZ

anyone has more insight about this?

you can try to use the H/W, S/W and License codes to register under speednavi.com but mostly it will tell u that the hardware has been registered.
