lolx...

btw, does anyone have radio reception issue? All the AF and other two more settings were turned off by the SA when I collected the car.

The radio reception is clear but for certain radio stations, the sound will be distorted like every 15s where the sound just disappear for 1 or 1/2 second; like it is being tuned for different sound mode if you have tuned your home wi-fi before.

is there any way to eliminate this? thx

anyone has this problem? notworthy.gif

btw, I'm letting go my visor which is given by SA. If anyone interest, just let me know. Thx

Can anyone help me double confirm those listed below??

the "door open" alarm signal will not sound when i put my gear to "P" and shut off the engine and then open the door. Did any of you encounter this?

i also realise there is no light illumination on the power window switch on both rear doors. there is only illumination for the front passenger door and driver's door

is there any headlight alarm signal when u off ur engine and forgot to turn off the healights? i notice if i forgot to turn off the headlights... when i off my engine... the main light will turn off but the pilot light will still be turned on... and there is no sound signal to tell u that u forgot to off it....

i also realise there is no seat belt indicator for Forte....
*
since P is the right gear to put when leave the car, it shouldn't sound or alarm you unless other gear is engaged when you turn off the engine.

I think there is no light illumination for rear door's power window switch.

no sound/alarm will be triggered for the headlight coz it will be auto turned off when you off the engine/leave the car.

yaya, seat belt indicator is only be shown for few seconds if you turn the car to ACC instead of start the engine immediately.

Hope other members can correct or confirm these as I'm still new with my forte smile.gif

since you mentioned you don't drive like a madman, 1.6 should be sufficient for you.. take note the word "sufficient"..

i test driven 1.6 6speed one at Naza Kia Bangsar before i got my 2.0.. the test drive route includes the housing area behind the row of Naza Kia Bangsar and other shops with lots uphill and downhill..
i could say 1.6 engine in Forte is insufficient to encounter with uphills coz u need to trash the engine little bit to higher rpm (3,300 > 4,000rpm) to get decent pick up pace.. and i could recall my ex-2004 Waja EV 4AT mitsubishi felt 30% more stronger in torque than 1.6 Forte 6AT..

why not you drop by in any Naza Kia showrooms and test drive yourself and make your own judgement ?  rolleyes.gif

Added on June 17, 2012, 6:40 pmmy car and myself still haven't got chance to escape out from KL..  sad.gif
what i get in average on daily drive from cheras to wangsa maju via MRR2.. is 10-11liter/100km..
which returns 220km for RM50 petrol RON95.. 95% city drive 70% heavy footed stop and go traffic..  blush.gif

Added on June 17, 2012, 6:48 pmmy 1st service also 1500km.. no problem.. but I felt the car to be super sluggish and harsh immediate
after 1st service using Petronas fully syn oil by SC.. and slowly gets quieter, refined, smooth power until to-date mileage 4,900km  rclxms.gif
even a 1.8 Dual VVT-i corolla altis cannot beat my forte's engine smoothness and refinement now  rclxm9.gif
*
Thanks dude. yes forte is very quiet. after 2 weeks of driving forte, yesterday I just drove my Myvi and it is extremely noisy lolx.....

loving the quietness of forte now... damn syok

Looking at your engine oil price..it should be fully synthetic oil already. No need oil treatment for me. Fully syn engine oil is good enough..
*
thanks bro. so oil filter and washer are the two items will be charged for the 1K service right? is there any thing else? just to ensure I'm not being charged for something not necessary

That means our windscreen cost 2k shocking.gif
I think must consider it hmm.gif
Btw, just check with the insurance company regarding my 2.0 2011 market valuation, the result is 82k, seems not bad tongue.gif
But I wondering if it reflects the actual market price of my forte? hmm.gif
*
I just bought a forte 1.6sx, insurance for windscreen is RM225 only. Is RM300 for 2.0SX or just higher sum insured?

*
ya, the front skirt can be scratched easily. hence most of the time I also reserve parking if the condition allows tongue.gif

later going to SK SC to do service, hope got free KIA umbrella smile.gif

Just done my 1K service; just cost RM168 coz got 20% discount on shell fully synthetic 5W 40 engine oil + FOC washer, oil filter, car wash, windscreen cleaner and alignment. Overall the staffs there are quite professional and they inspect the car quite details; added some brake oil for me as well - FOC.

user posted image
Does all the SC also give FOC windscreen cleaner?

user posted image
Did the SC take out ur absorber and take photo in order for them to claim for the alignment? They did it on mine as they said they want to claim for it. Hopefully they dont use my car to claim a brand new absorber.

I got the service discount voucher when get the car from them, maybe they didn't give many freebies or just on & off promotion for their service center gua.

Anyway their service is quite good. If you need to solve alignment issue then u can go to next row of their shop, which is just few shops next to ford show room.

wah bro... first service u let them take out ur absorber already? not scared ur allignment lari?

they said wanna claim for the alignment ma.. what to do.
anyway after the alignment service, no more pull left issue although previously it was just a very minor pull left, not really noticeable. since it is FOC then just request them to do saja.

by the way, this morning tried 160km/h and the RPM is about 5K. Is this standard? what is the top speed we can go with forte 1.6sx before hit the red line of the RPM?

can i know the rpm should be how much when the car is stopped?
No matter i switch the gear to N or D. i feel that the car has a bit vibration when the car is stopped.
Should i get back to SC to solve this? or its just a normal?
*
mine 1 is about 600 or 700 RPM. and no vibrate.

maybe you can ask SC to check it out.

haha... so fast u tekan 160km/h already?
mine so far 110... still very sayang the car... dare not tekan... gonna put in my K&N filter next... since already first service...
maybe after u put K&N ur car will have more top speed? i dont know...hehe
*
haha. wanna try try see whether after 1st service the car got any issue or not. I mostly keep it at 2-3K RPM but in highway, always over tekan it to 130KM/H coz it is so quiet... lolx.

I dont think I will put this reusable filter coz last time got it for my myvi and the engine throttle need to be clean quite often or else the car seems hard to start during hot afternoon.

anyone know where got sell the original filter for forte; only found air cond filter in this forum? BTW SC doesnt allow us bring own engine oil, do they allow us to bring own spark plug, engine filter, air cond filter?

i asked SC b4 and they dont allow to bring own eng oil, spark plugs etc
if u installed those 'reusable' stuff like k&n or iridium spark plugs, just let them know so tat they wont change it n throw away ur k&n or iridium spark plug
anyway, i was told that u can ask them not to change the part and u change it after the service by urself
*
maybe I will call the SC and ask whether can bring own spark plug and ask them to change; maybe just give them labor fee. If cant then go to other SC that can smile.gif

for the engine and aircond filters, i can change it myself so shouldn't be an issue.
