ahahahha!! there was once a civic was cucuk-ing me, terus i floored it and realized it was a 1.8cc  sweat.gif
*

never drove a civic 1.8 before.. only civic 2.0..
i wonder how's the 1.8 performs..
to me the Forte 2.0 performance pick-up 0-100 was so-so.. on the other hand when flooring the pedal to get from 120-200km/h was kinda impressive for a 2.0 NA 4 cylinder.. not even breaking a sweat..

Added on June 23, 2012, 10:04 pmfriends, I need info from you guys.. anyone of you had experienced the Continental ContiMAXContact MC5 tires.. ??
I.. am really so freaking seriously decided gonna change my car rubbers next weekend..
I need super quiet and solid comfort with superb grip.. handling is not a priority..

thanks !! blush.gif

i wish i had spicy red colour.. but then Naza KIA decided this colour should be only exclusive for the koup model.. cry.gif

the car accelerates quite fast at 120kmph onwards..

another thing.. which SC can solve problems for me "front left passenger A/C cooler than driver's A/C side"
and both front seatbelt got lalat menghinggap makanan sound.. ?

its probably not so annoying for me now coz almost all cars i owned inside all
got music.. from infamous wajachestra, vios kak kak and perut lapar sound and Forte now........

the most bottom right side steering button is actually bluetooth voice command feature which available at oversea countries..
and not available in Malaysian spec-ed Forte..

Ya.. Me too..
I thought it really pull to the left..
I wonder is it because the Korean drive on the left side that makes them confuse to do better alignment when they change to the right hand drive car..
Hmmm  hmm.gif  innocent.gif  whistling.gif
*

Apparently, the guy who changed my tires to new Michelin PS3 told me that
my front passenger side chamber to adjust -1.13°. Doing so will suggest
better straight line steering feel and also eliminates Forte's infamous pull left steering feel
which I'm having also.

I do not want my tires to makan sebelah at the inside after prolonged use, so I rejected his so-called preferred setting and to go for default which has all round optimal wear and performance on each tyre.

There are 4 minor issues I need to live with my 6 months old Forte.
1) Lalat noise sound on front driver and passenger adjustable seatbelt at B-pillars while driving on
speedbreaker strips / road imperfection surfaces.
2) Zzzzzz and slight wind whistles from the front dash and windscreen somewhere above 105kmph.
3) Not 100% reliable reverse camera and LCD screen built-in rear view mirror.
4) Noticeable squeaking sound when leaning against the driver's seat backrest. It squeaks like 50 yrs old car when first day I brought the car home.
(SC and also myself unzipped the half leather seat upholstery and sprayed lots of WD40 inside behind, noise eliminated about 80%.. still there are upper parts I cannot reach with WD40. Defective or rusty Active Headrest mechanism I think..)

All in all.. Forte is a comfortable and fun car to drive, but doesn't feel good to live with all 4 mentioned above.

Hi, bro epo pls add me into the list. 2.0sx clear white.

Super happy, just got my car this afternoon. It actually all starts with me liking Forte and checking out websites to find for offers. It was early January if I've not mistaken. Jotted down 7-8 SA's contact number and called each and every one of them, and one of them was Edwin Loh (Motorman). His offer was like the second best. (Yes, I know, kind of the same story again). But after asking the SA which offers me the best deal some questions, I feel like she is very not professional. She actually give alot of excuses for all things. Example, she said she wasn't giving TV because there are alot of problems with the TV, blablablabla. (they had promotion for giving out TV back then) And when I ask why not giving door handle tray, she actually say not good quality, will drop out and some other stupid stuff (I hate people bullsh*tting, how can that even drop out, it has got double sided tape and it fits into the hole). So at the end, I decided to go for Edwin's deal, which isn't too bad compared to that SA. I called Edwin and asked question and he answers them nicely and professionally. I told him I wouldn't be getting that car yet because I haven't got my driving license yet. He said it's okay and I can get back to him whenever I'm ready to book my car. Gave me the address and everything and said I should give him a call if I want to visit.

So few months passed, I got my license in Feb, but my dad said that it was too early to get me a new car. It was until May or so, I contacted Edwin again. He actually remembered me. He still talked nicely and didn't feel annoyed or whatever. Went over to Edwin's showroom in Seri Kembangan, asked about some stuffs and made the booking on the same day. My case was also a little special, because my dad is actually paying for a Myvi, and I'm working to pay for the difference for the Forte. He was nice enough to help me calculate the monthly installment for Myvi and Forte for me as well. So I know how much I need to pay every month. Such a nice guy. Then, I had to wait until mid July for my 18th birthday so that I can sign my HP agreement. After all those, went there and sign papers, after about 1 week, he informed that car is ready for collection on a Thursday, dad say to collect on Saturday. And he knew I was super eager about my car, he actually told me to get on a train to somewhere near Seri Kembangan and he will fetch me from there. I didn't want to trouble him so I passed. Oh yes. He actually cleared up a RM100 for me as well, because my number plate which I bought had already expired due to having to wait for my birthday.

So I collected my car today. Went to Raytech to do tinting which is near my area, and had been issued a voucher by Edwin. Asked for more discount and the guy called Edwin up and see whether he is willing or not. (Because you and I know better that all these SA gets commission from all this tinting vouchers, even after all those discounts, they still earn alot, so giving commission will be okay. So if you have any friends which does tinting, you don't need all these vouchers and yet you can get cheaper price.) And again he was so nice to say okay. His commission is reduced to give us discount. Not much, but still, better than nothing.

So overall, from day one which I called up to today, I'm very satisfied with Edwin being my SA. I would proudly and loudly say that he is the best SA which I've ever spoken to or meet. He made my first car purchasing experience such an interesting one. So anyone who is going to get a Forte for raya or whatsoever, go and get it from him. I can assure you that he will be giving best deal and best service.  rclxms.gif

And if you must know who is that shitty SA, pls PM me so you can avoid her. And I've been a silent reader since V10 or 11. Those who think that this is an account made just to help Edwin, it's okay. You have the choice of not believing me.  smile.gif but it's your loss smile.gif

Been enjoying my ride so far smile.gif

RANDOM OFF TOPIC FACT : my number opened up today in consolation and my dad bought it. He is a happy man now smile.gif
*

hey bro, congrats on your purchase !
mine is 2.0 white too rolleyes.gif yay !!
you've made the right decision on Forte 2.0 instead of Myvi tongue.gif

My rear camera stopped working. Looks like a visit to SC. And is that the pull left issue? I thought it really pulls to the left. That means I have it, and I missed out on the 1st service offer. Sigh.
*

My rear back-up camera problem solved during 1st service in SC on March. What they did was just unplug the socket and reconnect. It stays functional perfectly until recently for once I select reverse gear, the green LED blinking problem is back and no image appear on the screen.

But when I opened and closed the rear door, the back-up camera image comes back alive. So far no problem since then.

It seems that my car's Reverse Camera system is not so reliable. How can I describe this to SC and ensure they can fix it to 100% defect-free ? Any sifus here care to comment ? TQ !!

My 3 weeks old Forte has the pull left issue, no.1 and no. 2.

Pull left issue - already did realignment.. not much difference.. perhaps need to replace chamber nut?  hmm.gif
No. 1 and no. 2 - trying to live with them.. afraid SC will make them worse after complaining..

Overall.. still a good investment..  biggrin.gif

Fellow Fortezens..

Planning to get ARB or 2point Rear Strut Bar for my Forte.. may I know which one will give better handling? Already installed a Front Strut Bar.. thanks..
*

FYI, I did tested my car for 2 days with front left -1.13°..
my only gripe when I parked my car, it seems that the front left tayar look oddly senget and the other front
doesn't.. as if it wanna putus from chassis lidat.. doesn't look alright for an ordinary car and its not a sports / track based car..

that setting was certainly gives better road feel and very sharp steering response..
the default -0.26° gives disconnected steering feel and have to adjust the steering quite often
even at straight line cruising..

perhaps u need to ask other sifus here and 2nd or 3rd opinion at experience tire shop ppl..

if your car comes with BK already.. i don't suggest u lowering your car's height for handling advantage.. 4 ppl on board sure kena macam2 scratch at bottom wan rolleyes.gif the standard setup doesn't give good handling meh ? I thought Forte's stock handling is already good enough sweat.gif

for those who change to PS3 tyre...no regret at all. i have been using from day 1 (straight away change it after getting a car) ...now its almost 1 year 5 month @ 54k km. its very grippy and yet holding good on wet surface. very recommended.
*

yea bro.. my default preferable tires was always Mich MXV8 and then Primacy LC.. then with this Forte, I give it a try with PS3.. could immediately feel sharp handling and quicker maneuver..
with just a light tap on the brake, the car immediately slowing down quickly whereas the Atlantis V7 still gliding with delay stopping.. imagine of raining season with Silverstone.. even with ABS and TCS the car will still skid !! (experienced twice at MRR2 due to dumb drivers often emergency brake)

my only complain with PS3, roadnoise is quite intrusive into the cabin and gradually increases together with vehicle speed.. where Primacy LC I used with my previous TRD sportivo Vios tires still remain quiet at 180kmph with NVH of 60kmph.. whistling.gif

I checked the mileage used 8km already. Is that normal? Possible for Car sales agent to reset the mileage to 0? Just curious.
*

Is your car's tires comes with Silverstone tires ? mine Atlantis V7 has that sound of a train running on railway sound when driving on thin surface tarmac road even at correct tire pressures all around..

on the other hand, why would you wanna reset the Odometer to zero ? unless you change your meter to a new one lah.. at your own cost.

I havent test my car for speed more than 100kmh yet. So not sure if the car will pull to the left or not. But what happened actually the car still go straight ahead while driving (100kmh below). Just the steering wheel that not straight.

Can the SC just pullout the steering wheel and put it back to make it straight? unsure.gif unsure.gif

Just like what i did on my wira last time. My wira dont have airbag one.
*

from what I understood after I had major accident with my 2004 Swift, to make the steering straight, either front camber need to put -1° and toe-in setting at 0.8 above..

Then I thought this method cannot be applied on my Forte which is new and not involved in any accidents leh !! *touchwood* SC at Chan Sow Lin and Setapak still couldn't give me satisfied answer of solution.. they only answer "oh.. ni kena buat alignment jer la".. while outside tire shops says need to toe in a lil bit and camber to position negative 1° above depending on your car..

I think they had adjusted your toe setting on your wira, not the steering position itself.. correct me if I am wrong.

Hi fellow forte owners!

Total newbie here to the forum. Just got my car last week. Forte 2.0 titanium silver, GPS etc etc. Impressed so far! Thought the 2 litre would be more powerful tbh, but plenty of torque if OK going to 4k rpm (a bit vrroom vrromm la so only when Mrs not around). Not noticed the left side pull so far. Maybe I will be one of the few lucky ones?

Looking forward to learning from all you sifu's out there.  biggrin.gif
*

your car is still new, performance is not optimised yet..
my car's get up and go performance is quite decent now clocking 8k km mileage..
don't expect it to perform like a sports car.. it serves the purpose as everyday car..
just expect it to provide effortless acceleration after 5k km mileage..

I hope that Forte should equipped with 2.0 DCVVT 164hp and K5 to replace with 2.0 GDI Turbo in Malaysia drool.gif

So u prefer ps3 or p.lc? I wanna change ps3 but u tin i should go plc or ps3?
*

My final judgement is.. I would still prefer PLC as 1st choice.. 2nd is PS3..
abit regretted chosen PS3 which quick maneuver and sharp steering feel is not my major
criteria..

Forte has the advantage of quiet engine and ride at high speed.. should go for PLC if
I wanna downsize rims to 16".. otherwise PS3 if I wanna remain the stock 17"..
PLC is generally meant for 50 series above.. coz its main selling point should be comfort base
with a little touch of solid firm ride..

I'm pretty sure Forte's ride in PLC rubbers with 16 inch rims at 160km/h
will be the sweetest spot for long distance cruising.. PLC is not too bad on wet pavement too..
my previous Vios used PLC can drive 130kmph on highway heavy rain without feeling sampan,
loads of grip and runs on water puddle without any feel of losing traction.

PS3 is for those who is more appreciate to feel the car's road and steering feedback,
could feel what's the car is doing, every detail of any kind of road surfaces.. that's
what they call it "sporty ride" or firm ride (but PS3 feels more composed, less jittery than Atlantis V7)..
its as grippy as PLC minus the solid soft oriented continental car ride feel..

You cannot take all my words though.. I am just giving my thoughts and opinions with my
past experience with PLC in a Vios 195/55/R15 and PS3 in my current Forte 215/45/R17..

I am planning to get Kumho Ku31 tyre. Is it noisy? What is the other budget tyre to recommend?
*

bro.. best tires at moderate budget level is Yokohama C-Drive 2 for best all-rounder tires consider at its price point (grips well, handles well, quiet but not as quiet as Mich PLC.. a liiiiitle bit noisier than Mich XM2)..

Michelin XM2 if quietness and comfort is your priority with affordable price.. grips on road well too but could make the steering feel abit too vague for some drivers.. just don't compare this with Primacy LC coz both are in different standard..
