More bus but lousy bus stop and lousy authority control make no difference. I guess it will worsen the traffic. First example, ss16 carrefour bus stop. Full of rude and non meter taxi, all parked at bus stop which is slow lane. When the bus come, the bus have to stop at middle lane, and left the last lane for car to pass

BRT is a fully segregated bus lane with boarding and ticketing procedure similar to LRT.

Such concept has been used in Jakarta, Seoul, Johannesburg, Cape Town.

Some parts of the Sunway BRT will be elevated.

WhEre exactly is the station?

Cant understand Sunway... people want mrt lrt they propose brt...must have some 2nd stage link plan by Sunway using brt

But WHY BRT?

The best route should be to kelana lrt by passing icon pj but too bad mah sing no power...it is stupid to go to summit for what??
*
The problem with LRT to Sunway is that there is large flyover which blocks the construction at suitable gradient.

Besides, the Bandar Sunway taskforce did say if no LRT, then BRT is the next best thing.

Do not worry on BRT, because it has almost similar service level to LRT. Only BRT buses for BRT line, as well as same ticketing system as LRT/MRT.

Dun think the flyover is the problem..they can cut thru federal highway on the ktm side...must be some Sunway other intention and motive

BUT why to Summit? Doesnt make sense..who wants to go to summit and change station to KL??

Best place for main station is icon pj...butt he idiot prasana go and waste large sum of allocation to build a big station at glenmarie which nobody wants
*
Again, I doubt you can run LRT to Icon City because it is so build up. Glenmarie is easier because running through Subang Airport road has gentle curve.

Another thing is as the extension runs from Lembah Subang depot, building the line towards LDP to Icon City is very unlikely, due to the lack of available space.

For Icon City, the solution is simple. Build a proper walkway to KTM Setia Jaya.

For someone to use Sunway BRT, wanting to travel to KL. The fastest is the person to take BRT to BRT station next to KTM Setia Jaya. Then from there take KTM Komuter to KL Sentral.

Ktm is a big No... why go to sentral? Change line again to go to other parts of kl... imagine u got the change 2 station to go to kl...this Brt is a crap must as well scrap it a waste of money idiot prasana
More corruption... small budget project big allcation ...and foa all u know Puchong got 3 stations!!

Space ..u can elevate it..building transport system is to carry the mess crowd not measure by which is the convenient way to build...again stupidy wins for the goverment prasana

Changing station is not hard at all. As long as the ticketing system covers different lines. In fact when I was in Shanghai and Singapore, many of the trips made on metro still requires transfer, but the difference is that in these cities, transfers are made much more convenient.

BRT concept is proven in Bangkok, Seoul and Cape Town.

The ticketing system of the BRT will be the same as LRT and future MRT.

When developing rail line, Prasarana considers factors such as:

- The ease of building the line

- The population catchment

- Travelling time

And so, they decided the LRT extension should be like this.

Kelana Jaya station ------> Lembah Subang ----> Kelana Jaya Centre Point -----> KTM Subang Jaya.

Had they consider to route the whole thing to Icon City, there is an issue that the alignment will be too far and has much higher percentage to receive objection (in court) as that alignment needed to go all the way Icon City will pass through heavily built residential area.

Other factors considered during alignment planning are curve radius (Kelana Jaya line can handle up to 100 m curve radius) and gradient up to 6% (limit of Kelana Jaya line).

If any blame, blame it on government and the authorities wink.gif

when will the project start? any effect to those places that the brt cover??? will the prices of those properties increase like the effect of mrt ?
*
The project will undergo public display this year to get comments from the public.

By mid-2013, construction may start.

They target to open the BRT line in conjunction with the completion of Kelana Jaya line extension.

Sunway is willing to contribute the cost of BRT line, that means Sunway does see the potential of the BRT line.

At the end of the day, the BRT will definitely increase the convenience of taking public transit in the area.

In fact, the demand of BRT was made by the residents back in 2010.
