Hi, Dear all,
I wanna ask you guys that what brands (xWxx) of engine oil is the best for Honda City 09?
I am using Eneos 0W20 Ecostage.
Previously using Honda Genuine 5W30 (semi?).
Initially feel very smooth and powerful, quietness also improved.
But now (after 2 weeks), not that really. Like return to previously feel (but still quiet).
By the way, I m using Petronas Extra 95.
Any bros here have experiences to share with?
Thanks. tongue.gif

You should not use an engine oil as thin as 0W20. It will damage your engine in the long run because weight 20 oil doesn't offer much needed protection.

If you want quality oil, you should use Liqui Moly 0W30 semi synthetic oil or 0W40 Fully Synthetic.

I know that.
But this Eneos 0W20 got molybdenum added to help reduce frictions.
Thats why I dare to try.
Izzit no help at all? blink.gif

By the way, Honda now also got new 0W20 engine oil already.
Izzit really bad to use it?

why use such a thin oil? you every day in the jam right? in the jam you need thicker oil to provide protection.

why use fully when you need to service 5000km?

semi will do , but your money, your car, your choice smile.gif

Some Penang Char Keow Teoy are nice and some aren't so nice even thought they have the same ingredient.

Same with engine oil with moly. I believe some are good and some are not good because it is difficult to keep moly in proper suspension. So why take chance?

Penang Char Keow Teoy is not a good example for me.
As they definitely using different ingredient.
Content maybe you can say is "almost same".

But I am very interesting in what u mentioned the proper suspension of molybdenum.
Any further info to share with? rclxms.gif

u shouldn't use 0W20 as our weather doesn't suit it, and we don't need it, or do we? i can find or think of reason behind...
since u said initially felt very smooth, powerful and quiet but now after 2 weeks it's like gone, i believe that the engine oil ady screwed up by u perhaps?
stick back to something like xW30 or xW40.

cheers!

basically for 0W20, no problem for all the honda current model
since 0W20 for 2400cc and below NA only all is suitable
but proton might need some labrat to do this. haha
due to engine piston tolerances played a huge problem here

so call in Honda USA, been using this 0W20 for 5 years, well before 0W20 is 5W20, which are also consider as lower visco oil

Basically oil manufacturer added molybdenum into lubricant used to enhanced the low frictiob criteria, hence reduce friction. which is similiar to PAO Group 4 base oil.

other means added with molyb additives certainly is not using G4 base oil.
