i also kena poison and bought RX100 already, my T2i will be sleeping in the drybox.

RX100 ergonomics & handling definitely lose to T2i (or any dslr) because there is no dedicated button for iso, aperture, shutter speed (but can map these buttons to front dial, rear dial or Fn button). No viewfinder, hot shoe. Not having a hotshoe is not a problem for me because I seldom use the hotshoe on my T2i. You can buy RX100M2 with hotshoe, the hotshoe can attach external viewfinder.

Flash is not quite powerful, but enough for subject not so far, also enough as fill flash. The flash can be tilted to point the ceiling like a bounce flash.

RX100 strength to me as a T2i owner is that it is super small & light. It is only half the weight/ half the size of T2i without any lens attached. It's image quality is on par with T2i with kit lens if you don't pixel peep all the time. I feel that RX100 dynamic range is better than T2i. If you shoot video, RX100 video quality is miles better than T2i - can autofocus, very minimal noise when auto-focusing, sharper, better dynamic range. When it comes to night time (low light), that's when RX100 shines, especially if you shoot wide open at f/1.8.

Of course RX100 has many weaknesses also compared to T2i. Image stabilization is very bad because I can't hold it on my eye level to keep it stable. There is no minimum shutter speed setting, the automatic 1/30s can sometimes cause slightly blurry image. No auto-ISO in Manual mode.

got PASM mode, just like T2i (Canon call it P, Av, Tv, M mode). Got manual shutter speed setting also. The only difference is that auto-ISO is disable in M mode (auto-ISO can be enabled in T2i). But RX100 tends to choose 1/30s when shooting wide, in PAS mode.

The is no other rival in terms of sensor size, pocketability & zoom, except RX100M2 of course.
I read in some Taiwan forum that Ricoh GR is small size with big APS-C but NO zoom.
Nikon A is also small size with APS-C sensor but no zoom.

Nikon 1 series has same size sensor with RX100 but high iso doesn't perform as good and resolution is 12MP? 10MP?. You can change lens, prime lens will keep its size small but once you add zoom lens, Nikon 1 becomes much bigger than RX100.

Just tried the RX100II just now... love the faster AF.
