Makes sense since X10 is already around 2K.

I wonder what Panasonic will bring to the table on 18th of July with the new LX7.

Samsung has entered the game with a Schneider-Kreuznach f1.4 lens's EX2F.

You're forgetting the Fuji X10. Ah maybe it's too big compared to the others. blush.gif

X10 is nice but still doubts about the orb issue and menu system a bit clunky.. and big.
*
The new sensor/lens combo seems to fix it. The menu is pretty straight forward to me. It's the limitations in certain modes that's confusing. Can't deny the size though. tongue.gif

Maybe it's too detailed, but nowadays we can see a large numbers of "large aperture compacts", and few "performance oriented compacts". The above-mentioned XZ-1, RX100 and EX2F being in the former group, and G1X and P7000 being in the later group.
*
I think i can agree on that. One group being small enough to go into the pocket with minimal buttons. And the other one being bigger with viewfinder and have more external controls.

preview keluar sudah...

http://www.dpreview.com/previews/panasonic-lumix-dmc-lx7

with sensor, aperture & aperture equivalent comparison

If the RX100 is not so slow at the tele end then it would've been a winner for me. tongue.gif

I wonder what the street price will be. Or rather lowyat forum price. Maybe can get around 2K? Very tempting since my X10 is not really what you call compact. Attracted to the video capability as well.

Not many people will pay RM2,499 for a compact that is neither as compact as a smartphone, nor as high IQ as a CSC.
*
Overprice is a relative term. It's like saying normal mortals won't buy Leica because it's stupidly overpriced. But it still sells.

To me RX100 is a very interesting package. And i also blame Fuji for overpricing the X10 lol but they have a tough job to come up with a successor to beat Sony. The X Pro-1 is even more over inflated but still sells like hot cakes. rclxub.gif

i dunno for that much price paid i dont get much differences from s100 and xz-1, and lets see what the LX6 gonna be price at? I seriously hope that Canon next installment gonna kill all this overprice enthusiastic P&C and make them back to the price they should be.That is RM1600-RM1800.
*
Well that's the point of having competition. nod.gif

You're right. I forgot that they make their own sensor. Must've cost a lot for R&D and stuffs.

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Jul 31 2012, 10:29 AM)
But as cheapo consumer.. Probably will wait for price drop tongue.gif

Maybe you're waiting for XZ-2? tongue.gif

Hey no problem. I was just bored and randomly lurking the Trade Zone. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Aug 9 2012, 11:52 AM)
For such a small camera, there's limited thing you can fit on it also.

Besides, Sony habit is to use their own accessory port not standard hotshoe also.
*
Quite sure even with the hotshoe it will still be small. Though putting even the smallest external flash will make it look weird. Argh should i ditch my X10? rclxub.gif

Thats a very good price. Looking at his price list I was surprised Nikon J1 can be
bought for only RM1,3xx.00 only. the black one with 10mm lens look like a mini LEICA biggrin.gif
*
I just noticed that. Very cheap. ohmy.gif

Not bored, just tempted by the compactness and all the positive reviews. biggrin.gif

Oh next month is Photokina right? Maybe i'll wait a bit more. tongue.gif Though i think the X10 is still young compared to X100.

^ Your point being?

QUOTE
So, if your main requirement is a very small camera that can take very good photos, this is for you. OTOH, if you're quality conscious enough to spend this much on a camera, you might want to get something a bit larger or wait for Photokina.

I guess i'll be keeping my X10 since i already spent a lot on the accessories.

Want vs need. If i'm bloody rich i'd keep both. tongue.gif

Naw... see the link I posted.

It looked like its about 1cm thicker than the 20mm fitted on the GX1. The 14-42PZ is same thickness as the 20mm
We're talking about the RX1 now.

Come to think of it... now we know RX100 (1 inch sensor) and RX1 (full frame).... this leaves room for a RX10 in the naming convention. APS-C anyone?
*
Most probably. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Soony @ Sep 12 2012, 05:40 PM)
The thing about RX1 is the lens is abit too long, hence not pocket-able.
*
Well huge sensor = huge lens.

QUOTE(ichals @ Sep 12 2012, 05:49 PM)
i hear the price for RX1 is USD$2800.. fiuhhhhh
*
Yet D600 is "only" 2100USD. tongue.gif
