QUOTE(Solvan @ Jun 7 2012, 12:07 PM) haha, stil have not. but i want to know how unroot it once it is rooted. i have an urge to root it already. Just want to ensure i hav a ticket back to its ori state. Just flash in PC using Odin stock official rom ( now avaialble to download ) and all traces of root n CWM will be wipe offBut seriously Samsung Service Center never bother. Unrooting only for paranoid users who fear about warranty loss which is a nonsense |

QUOTE(meazurali89 @ Jun 7 2012, 12:26 PM) Last week 3 G Note users hardbrick their phones and got motherboard replace FOC , again proving that Samsung service Center never bother about rooting and phones wrongly flash. My past 5 experience in past 3 years sending in obviously rooted/flash phones warranty is always given FOCRooting will NEVER delete any phone data or spoil phones ; the chance this happens is one in several billion I'd say. It will only happen if you do it with a wrong kernel or your battery level is too low |

QUOTE(digitalz @ Jun 7 2012, 04:22 PM) Bro ZeneticX, is it possible for you to give links/simple guides in the first page so that the new ones can learn how to flash/root their phones? It'll help them understand the details better. Simple illustrated guidehttp://leemn.wordpress.com/2012/06/03/gala...rkmod-recovery/ |

QUOTE(ramz @ Jun 7 2012, 05:20 PM) - backup is catch 22. if i don't root i can't do titanium backup. but if i root i may risk loosing my data before i even do a titanium backup. May I know where you get this info rooting will lose your data ??- i am living happily without this feature. - don't think i need market enabler. i only use a handful of apps, mainly for work and family. - i don't visit porn sites too often. i am just a user. i do not need to be a power user. or at least i don't want to complicate things with my to be beloved s3. ( i sound qualified to be an iphone user) Rooting will NOT delete or affect any data in your phone Seriously I have yet to come across any case any user losing stuffs after rooting . Unless that user is hopelessly stupid and do not know how to follow simple instructions . The worse can happen he fail to root it only Flashing rom can possibly affect your phone data definitely no such thing for rooting alone Added on June 7, 2012, 6:57 pm QUOTE(mscw88 @ Jun 7 2012, 06:56 PM) NO need to use any task killer in Androids,. This is not Windows. Go google this subject about task killers in androidThis post has been edited by benny888: Jun 7 2012, 06:57 PM |

QUOTE(wengchuan @ Jun 7 2012, 07:32 PM) It is perfectly safe to freeze most of the default apps and all those Samsung Hubs apps. Do not freeze core apps such as Contact, Calendar, TouchWizEven freezing GMail app is OK if you do not use this mail app. |

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Jun 7 2012, 07:43 PM) Not exactly truein ICS you can have option to disable system apps : just go to settings/applications - in the ALL tab , browse to the system app you wish to disable - - you will see Force Stop and Disable button The app won't be fully removed from your phone's storage, but it'll never run -- and you'll never see it again. |

The roms development has grown very fast just past 2 days :
First rom : Omega V4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663656 tested v3.0 - removed most bloatware. performance wise just slightly better I'd say. Developer just released v4.0 . Downloaded it yesterday - haven't test yet HyperGalaxy 0.2 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695562 Extremely lean rom devoid of many apps - superb performance and indeed very much slicker and smoother than stock. I have just upgraded to v0.2 this morning. Read my BLOG to see how lean this rom is . It has less than one page of apps Zoom 0.2 : First AOPK/CM9 based rom - this is one rom which I will definitely will try. AOPK/CM9 roms are my favourite on my G Note. Definitely not for those who love Samsung stuffs http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1698273 RomAur S3 v1.0: Gave up downloading this rom - keep breaking off. Claim it has excellent battery life http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1696027 Lidroid rom : Customized and added features to stock rom. Just noted it this morning http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1697654 |

QUOTE(geforce1982 @ Jun 8 2012, 10:13 AM) Hi uncle Benny, Clear data of playstore at settings/application managerI've had this same error on my Samsung S3 for the past few days. It reads at the bottom of the screen: "Currently unable to download. Please try again later" I've heard this error has something to do with the marketplace but there is no real solution to fix it. I've tried uninstalling apps, all my apps are updated to the latest version and it still won't go away. The only way to remove the message is to restart the phone. Any help would be appreciated. restart phone |

QUOTE(Jackieboy @ Jun 8 2012, 11:56 AM) Sifus , got a question to ask about rooting. Want to root to install Avast Mobile security Anti Theft feature. Yes As long as you are on official stock rom After rooting, is the phone able to continue using the Stock Rom and update OTA if new updates released. Is there more steps to do ? Root will not affect it |

QUOTE(SteadyPana @ Jun 8 2012, 01:39 PM) in MTP Mode : No such issue for me . Both internal SDcard and ext SDcard clearly shown in my Notebook. just connect the phone to notebook will do, no need to do any settings whateverThe first time you plug in the USB Cable to a notebook that attached S3. Drives can be detected via double click on the My Computer -> GT-I9300 Later, unplug it and re-attached the USB cable from S3 to notebook, unfortunately, nothing (no drives) being detected. But charging was OK. Anyone facing this problem ?? Later, I changed to Camera Mode. Drivers somehow showed External Sdcard contents : Internal Sdcard contents : |

QUOTE(nestum @ Jun 8 2012, 02:36 PM) lol..i got unifi to do that ...haha Check your billing date commencement. It is not always first of the month. Mine is the 17th each monthi check back my old hp sms "Your mobile Internet Package Monthly 3GB (m) has been activated . Prorated quota until 23:59 09/06/2012 is 693.7MB . Not for roaming . TnCs apply. " anyone can explain here? mean they allow me to use 693.7mb until 9/6/12 ? which mean balance still got 2GB+? but the SMS told me i already use 80% of my 3GB data! Your data will be prorated to the next billing date. So probably you have hit 80% of the prorated data usage |
