I do not own the Rock Quicksand case but judging from pictures, I think it does not protect the top and bottom part of the phone. Not so good for those who bump their phones here and there every once in awhile.

Smart stay doesn't need you to face the camera. I even tried staying out of the camera's view and put my hand infront of it and it still works
